Building one in Nelspruit is as good as declaring it a Swaziland varsity with traffic at the border expected to rise during peak hours... Witbank, I think, would have been a big win... From the former Kwandebele to Bronkhorstprui and through Vaalbank to Pankop, PTA will always be a better option than Nelspruit. Another white elephant in the making... why do they think MP around these regions use either, L or GP registration plates... Nelspruit is just an administrative center with no enrichment of the entire Kwandebele and surrounding areas.

“We want to eliminate all forms of gate-keeping in the production of professionals,” Nzimande said."

The biggest gatekeeper is the ANC's failed education system and its racist policies.

You can have as many university buildings as you like but if you fill them with poorly educated, racially biased individuals you still don't have a university.

The ANC is always chasing after the wrong thing.

About time. Now just to find the money to staff and equip them. And please deities above, let someone vet the proferred "credentials" of academic teaching staff. Now all we have to get right is to actually get our kids through school with a MEANINGFUL matric. That being said, this is wonderful news.

It is a good idea indeed. I think these proposed higher education institutions should specialise in skills that South Africa needs most for economic growth in line with the National Planning Commission documents, and must get sufficient funding from Government.

They must just make sure that they spell Kgalema Motlanthe's name correctly when he opens the universities in 2014,
