MommaC: "Mac is being a little thin with the facts there." Exactly. That is his sole role. Dissipation of information. A big lie used to be called a "whopper". Now one can call it a "Big Mac".

Life: My theory is that he slipped it in where he shouldn't have and got caught out. But will one ever know. Soon he will need a special luxury bus to transport his spice.

________________________________

16 million is not the actual figure spent, but the state does pay for his expenses for official functions only, not private affairs. The airtickets mentioned have nothing to do with this wedding, but a general provision to parliamentary members. So the state will not be providing tickets to no one regarding the wedding of Mr Zuma.

In certain cultures cannibalism was acceptable, as was the use of slaves, and so on. These practices became unacceptable in due course, as I think one cannot help but accept. So please, don't play that useles wild-card when discussing things. It simply no longer applies in a civilised world.

Maharaj said reports in the media suggesting the State would bear the cost of maintaining Zuma's wives were incorrect
*********************************************************************************************************
Another lie you fukcwit......... last year the spousal support was +/-R5mil per spouse per annum........ WTF are you talking about........ you freaken retard.......
........................
Well, it is happening everywhere all over the world. The laws allow for the benefits of the President's family. Why the Zuma family must then go hungry?
**********************************************************************************************
Please (re) read my comment......... All I said was Maharaj should not lie about the president's wives not being maintianed by the State.......

Mgeez: I'm in no position to prescribe such things, but I think most people would opt for once.
=====================================================
But when you say "5 times?" you speak as though there is a limit that has been exceeded!!! By the way; you are also in no position to speak for most people as that would be an unfounded generalisation.
Do not get me wrong I am not in support of marrying more than one spouse at any given point in time; however I live in RSA where we are governed by the constitution and we have at least 11 tribes living in this country. It therefore stands to reason that whilst I may not agree with the practises of one of the tribes; but I must still respect that they are not breaking anylaws of the republic; but merely practising their cultural rights as enshrined in the constitution!!!!

Does Jacob Zuma ever pause to think about his decisions and actions? For the sixth time he is tying the knot. Then there are ofcourse other women around the country, young and old, who at one time or another have had liaisons with the president (and some still do) and probaly hope that the president is going to ask for their hand in marriage. I am a staunch ANC supporter but every time I hear these stories I am so embarassed and diminished. All I have to do is hang my head in shame!

Sometimes it is better if we state reasons for opposing e-toll which I think we have not done enough of, these are my reasons:

1. SANRAL did not build new roads; they simply maintained existing roads effectively adding just one lane – often poorly constructed as can be seen on the N1 North around Malibongwe off ramp - at a total cost of R 20bn.

2. Of this R 20bn government has already paid for R 5.8bn of this debt leaving a balance of R 14.2bn which is the outstanding debt.

3. SANRAL will spend a total of R 6.2bn over 5 years – 1 bn for the gantries and 5.2bn admin costs over 5 years after which they will invite companies to tender which means we may be paying forever to service the debt. R 6.2bn to collect R 14bn means total admin costs of R 43% of the principle amount, this is madness.

4. SARS collects billions annually at around 1% admin fees, how the hell does SANRAL justify a cost to principle debt of 43%?

5. It is estimated that 60% of this admin fee will go to the Austrian company which last year alone made 30% of operational profits from SA including parking fees and initial profits from e-tolling; basically we are a newly found cash cow for this company. I wonder what kickbacks our leaders are getting from this massive amount.

6. An additional 10c/l levy would from the roughly 20bn litres we use annually would generate around R 2bn annually, at this rate we would pay off the debt in around 9 years factoring in interest over the principle debt which makes perfect sense for all.

7. Principal users of the road who contribute the most ware and tear on our highways namely taxis and busses will be exempt from e-tolling which means the burden has been passed on to ordinary road users, again I am being robbed blind but this time a gun is not being used, the threat of imprisonment is. Then there is NHI on the way which again I have to pay for.

8. The Minister’s argument that the rest of the country should not be paying for Gauteng roads is absurd since Gauteng generates the highest percentage of taxes which are then used nationally, should we start demanding that taxes collected in Gauteng only be used to fund the Gauteng province?

9. Last year the amount of wasteful and corrupt expenditure was quoted at R 30bn (this is at national level alone), this is twice the outstanding debt and if government were prudent in their spending they could pay for twice the stretch of road in question and would not have to introduce additional levies.

10. Most importantly this is ultimately boils down to a government that respects its citizens and consults properly before engaging on any project. For me this is about civil disobedience aimed at a government that is corrupt and waste tax payers money without even being apologetic about it. It is time South Africans stood up to the government and if they continue to treat us like dirt the next step is a punitive vote as much as that will hurt.

The ANC is playing a very dangerous game, one that may see them lose power in the province and perhaps they need to feel people’s power in action so I will not blink as much as I support infrastructure development, not this time.

If an auditing firm can be appointed to investigate where are the Zuma's wives get their money to support their lifestyle, Taxpayers are paying. People of KZN are abused by that KZN government. Millions are given to King Zwelithini to uphold his status and that of his entourage (Wives and kids). @Dzel, thank you for trying, but your analysis are misplaced. Not only Malibongwe was upgraded, many roads were upgraded and we should thank SANRAL for that. As for paying for e tolls, i think it is the right thing to do. We complain about funds being moved out of country as if it is the first time that happening. 90% of retails are not south african owned, that means those profits move out of the country. Not even one car maker is South African, that means those profits move out of the country.

So we are paying for the wedding, and probably even paying for every item she will be wearing. And then later on ofcourse there are kids that we still have to pay for. After spending his 70th birthday, Jacob was relaxing in b3d with his w1fe, Thobeka on Sunday morning. He got into the mood and though it was opportune to give her one before going off with his new w1fe Bongi.

While Jacob and Thobeka were on the job, there was knock on the door from one of his small children.

“Daddy, when you are you and mommy getting up – the children want breakfast?”

Zuma replied: “We’ll be there just now.”

A few minutes later the child knocks on the door again – “Daddy, when is breakfast, we are hungry?”

Zuma replied: “Just now – in some few moments.”

A few more minutes go by and Jacob is on the short strokes and the child b@ngs on the door.

“Daddy!! When is breakfast??!!”

Zuma gets out of bed, goes to the door and says to the child – “You are being disrespectful. Let me explain to you ..... I am your father and therefore must be seen as “the government”. Your mother represents “the country” and all you children represent “the people” so as the government is busy with matters of the country, the children must have r3spect.”

Zuma then asks “So my child what have you learnt from this?”

The child responds: “Daddy, what you really mean is when the government is fuuucking the country, the people must starve.”

To those justifying this as "part of his culture": Today in Sowetan this article appears regarding cannibalism in Brazil:

"Flesh-eating cannibals arrested.
Police in Brazil say they have arrested three people who allegedly ki lled at least two women, ate parts of their bodies and used their flesh to make pastries that they then sold".

It could easily be argued that the perpetrators came from a culture in which cannibalism is practiced and is found acceptable. So would that make it okay to turn people into pies? Some "cultural" practices simply do not make the cut in a civilised world.

This is typical example of accumulations refered to in this article, the anc have become a bunch of shameless self serving animals, one just wonders when will ordinary SAns will see them for the wolves in the sheep skin and show them the door and retrieve our country from the claws of the corrupt.

I so wish that the PAC wld revive itself cause clearly there's a leadership vacuum for the economic emancipation of the masses.

Zuma should be supporting all his wives out of the substantial salary paid him already. Why should we be burdened with his excesses?

Like this bit too - direct quote

<<And this leads me to my second, more fundamental point: ‘democracy’ is bullshit. Democracy is a fairy tale, a nice bedtime story for the masses. “All the power is with you,” we’re told. “Really, the government is just there to exercise your will, and you get to decide everything. Democracy empowers citizens.” Absolute, utter kak.

Citizens choose exactly one thing: the identity of the people who will gorge themselves at the feeding trough for the next five years. That’s it. Every other decision is made by these elected livers-off-the-fat-of-the-land. And not surprisingly, they tend to make decisions that increase their personal comfort, and their control over the slaves in the general population.>>

Now wait for those wearing blinkers to start ranting ....

By October all sensible members of the ANC will be ready to stand up in ANC branches "I nominate Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe for President of the ANC for the following reasons. Once the Chairman asks whether there are any seconders, the whole house will rise up. Boggles the brain doesn't it, but if the 'people' don't hold them accountable, instead, hanging on to unfulfilled promises, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I don't know if the country can afford to wait for people to wake up and send a message by voting this bunch of miscreants out!!

The community withheld rates and taxes and used them to do the upgrades and repairs in the town themselves. (Wonder if it is still happening?)

I think we should ALL go that route! We'd get better deals AND get the job done efficiently and quickly instead of having these bloated politicians at every level stealing us blind and not doing the job they are being paid for.

Frankly I have felt for some time that we are OVERTAXED when so much money can get stolen due to fraud/mismanagement/graft etc etc and there is no accountability, anywhere!

SARS simply gets the b1ood out of the stone. It is Pravin who decides where it will go.

Each department puts in a budget along with a motiivation for why they require the money and the NWC then goes over it to see where it ties in with government priorities. The majority of amaZulu find this cultural practice beneficial to them and they are not hurting anybody. Actually the amaZuly are not the only people who practice polygamy in this country, all the tribes do, some under prescribed circumstances and some out of necessity. The Muslim culture and religion allows this practice and so do the Bahai. I do not see amaZulu women toyi-toying against this practice to show displeasure, so who are we to tell them what to do. Personally, I am a very smart woman with a decent education and world exposure, but I would get married into a polygamous situation if I liked the guy enough.

No woman was forced to be in polygamous relationship with Zuma. These women have a democratic right to say no to polygamy. They just love it.It is a battle that we can't fight or even win.
It's a completely different case as in Mswati's where we see young girls getting in polygamous relationship with the King unwillingly.

For an eg. we see woman fighting against nudity but who pose nude on the media ,magazines and so forth, you see a lot of half naked women on the telly everyday.Women are the controvesial species you can come across.

@McLoving howz you today?

In many cases polygammy is a direct result of economic circumstances most women in the continent find themselves in, its a form of slavery laced with pedophilic tendencies when it comes to ukuthwala another form of arranged marriage which exploits young women, we should be ashamed of these practices, you know if we had proper leaders and a proper gov we'd have time to discuss real social issues than wastign time defending pathetic leaders who are dragging this continent into stone age era cause they still remain mentally underdeveloped, just yesterday a business partner was saying to me that guys like Nkwame Krumah and Mahatma Gandhi were ahead of their times, what is the excuse of these leaders who remain cavemen in spite of easily accessible and available information to educate themselves?
