Added security in Waterkloof's exclusive zone

Apr 16, 2012 | SIPHO MASOMBUKA | 37 comments

THE street in which one of President Jacob Zuma's four wives, Nompumelelo (MaNtuli), lives is one of three Pretoria East streets covered by the first phase of a multi-million hi-tech closed-circuit surveillance system.

Get police that are not trigger happy with the innocent and are not perpetually getting bribes and are actually in great physical form instead of huffing and puffing and whilst you are at it, get cops that are passionate about the job and maybe, just maybe, the crime rate will go down.
This nosense of selecting the rich to get protection is BS. We all need protection and we are paying our taxes to get that protection.

This President is useless...He and Nathi Mthethwa has just lifted a suspension of Richard Mdluli, and stopped an investigation by the Hawks in investigating allegations of corruption, nepotism and mismanagement of the police "slush fund" but yet no disciplinary action is taken against him, simply because JZ sees Mdluli as the one assistinh him to gather inteeligence information about the activities prior to Mangaung.....

Does this mean that ADT are now officially the police force in SA?
(nearly wet myself laughing when I saw the ADT panic button in the police station)

I too wonder about the poor sods who can't afford private security and techno gadgets. They are the ones who get the brunt of the lawlessness.

Straight up. The police station has an ADT panic button by the klagters counter with a big sign that says 'Protected by ADT'. Goes to show how much faith the cops have in their own service.

and sheer arrogance that these supposedly servants for the poor live in WEALTHY suburbs whilst their subjects wallow in unlivable conditions, I have to say they are lucky they only experienced robberies as major crime in their areas ordinary SAns who are raped, murdered every second have no such privilege.

Sinudeity give us proof that our tax was used, is this private or for the area, Cape Town has put cameras on the CBD but not in townships we don`t complain, we have cameras in our neighbourhood & have 8 around my house, so what is the fuss about.

Sinu sometimes your brain goes to relax mode, police do need back up protection at police stations bcoz members patrol & attend to your needs & then you find 2 on the from desk to answer phones & write your complaints while superiors are in their offices

If you drive a battered Totoya Tazz without mags/old Nissan Sentra with smoking exhaust in Waterkloof you're likely to be perceived as a potential criminal and all cameras will follow you and shade and will definitely be stooped by every police car in the area whenever your drive past three streets.
