Heist accused in more soup

ONE of the men on trial for the R100-million cash heist at OR Tambo International Airport in 2006 may have his bail revoked after being arrested for a separate armed robbery.

Prosecutor Willemien Vos asked the Johannesburg High Court yesterday to cancel Ronny Mbuyisa's bail because he stands accused of stealing money from Protea Coin Security guards in Vanderbijl Park on March 24.

Mbuyisa is currently in Leeuhof Prison awaiting a bail appearance for last month's attempted armed robbery.

He is one of the eight men on trial for stealing $14.7-million and R1.5-million cash, a cellphone and two pistols off flight SAA237 in 2006.

Judge Nico Coetzee cancelled next Tuesday's court appearance of the eight accused to allow Mbusiya to attend the bail hearing for his robbery charge.
