Even if you have 1 sibling left, atleat build that contact with them. I mean 1977 till now only you found one of your family......I am disturbt thats why I dont even watch Khumbule khaya.

But again we need to take responsibility, becoz it start with people avoiding going home , for various reasons like they dont have enough money to go home or have nothing to show as they are working and decide to stay away for too long the next thing they see no reason to go home ever again, then cruel people take advantage of such, giving them jobs in exchange of alcohol or little pay.

i must say a lot still need to be done in our country , if there was a person living like this in this new SA.

I hope you get more time to celebrate ur family tata

you must be crazy , this is a function of North West Province -Department of Social Services to track down such cases , the social workers of North West must be ashamed of themselves, including citizens who must blow the whistle, in that sense Old Age home are still part of Department of Social Services.

And then you tell me how come you blame Gwede here , where does he comes from when social workers employed are nt doing their jobs, do you think Gwede must be God who is all over at once, for me you show yourself that you dont understand the functioning of the government

Hie,im good thanx.

This man probably abandoned his wi fe and kids long back. He was probably ashmed of going back to them after the way he treated them. No one would really leave their parent to suffer like this unless if the parent was somehow irresponsible. At his age,he must be having kids somewhere. Im just saying. Anyway thank God that he has finally find a proper home and hope Pretorious would be charged for mistreating the old man.

Do you have any idea of the case load of a social worker? They don't have the manpower to sort out the cases they have on their desks, there is no way they have the manpower to go wondering around the country looking for new cases.

Dept of Labour is supposed to have inspectors go around to each and every farm and workplace to ensure that contracts, minimum wage, work conditions and other labour practices are being adhered to. How did an old man with a disability get paid a miserable R300 a month on their watch?

Please can we stop calling this man a "garden boy"? If he were only 14 or 15, I suppose that description would be correct, but at his advanced age of 72, "Gardener" would be more appropriate.

I am very glad to know that he has been helped to go home and that he is being looked after. I hope his employer will be investigated for paying him so little - how can anyone be expected to survive on R300 a month? That's equivalent to slavery - and starvation.

Go well, Mr Tshililo.
