Cele's phone was bugged - report

Apr 13, 2012 | Sapa | 10 comments

The Hawks are investigating criminal charges over claims that the phone of suspended national police commissioner Bheki Cele was bugged

Bheki Cele

“Yes, we can confirm that there is an investigation... It’s at an advanced stage,” Hawks spokesman McIntosh Polela told the Mail & Guardian.

The newspaper reported that Cele’s phone was bugged by his own intelligence division, and that the interception began in late 2010.

Approached to comment on the allegations, Cele said he had not initially taken the matter seriously.

“I honestly dismissed the rumour of this as a bad joke when they reached my ears a year or so ago.

“I now have good reason to ask to ask the inspector general of intelligence to investigate this matter... a brazen violation of my rights,” Cele said.

Cele's only sin was that he was linked by Mdluli to the so-called Mvela group. Shabangu is Zunum-num's friend and Cele will only be fired because he is percieved to be in the wrong faction. After Mangaung he will return to 'chest out stomach in' and Zunum-num will have to go num-num eNkandla.

What are that scaly Shaik brother up to now? There is no way that they got a judge to give them open access to tap the head of the police force.

We know that Mo has been accused of selling sensitive government documents to business before, so how on earth they trust him with this is beyond me.

Juju when he was excited assisting JZ to abolish Mbeki said he can even k.i.ll for JZ.
I guess he was promised heaven and earth, when he expected delivery there were some glitches, bcz there was nothing signed as a formal agreement, when Juju started insulting White community JZ kept quiet why bcz he was working on a strategy to remove him from his skin and he gave him a very looooong rope to hang himself, we had rumours of Fikile and the likes of Sexwale that they were siding with Juju but to me that sank down as a strategy and today who is on his side?? even those that were sleeping in the streets of Jozi without food and blankets on their backs supporting Juju with the hope that they were fighting a winning battle are no where to be found.
