A minibus taxi driver was gunned down at a Tongaat taxi rank, KwaZulu-Natal police said
“Sthembiso Ngcobo was killed at 5.30am on Tuesday,” Captain Thulani Zwane said.
Ngcobo had been waiting for passengers to board when a group of men shot him at least five times.
It was not known how many men participated in the shooting.
Provincial transport department spokesman Kwanele Ncalane said the shooting followed a dispute in the local Siqalakahle minibus taxi association.
The department had sent a delegation to talk with the group in a bid to resolve the dispute on Monday. Police had also been sent to the area.
