it is a known fact that everybody in life makes a bad decision at some point. In business/corporate world/politics bad decisions are made every now and then with dire consequences. A good spin doctor should have said, while the department took a decision 4 years ago to merge the schools after a due diligence and a consultative process with the parents concerned, we have noted this particular case and perhaps we need to go back to the drawing and determine how many children have a similar plight, from there develop a corrective measure. Which in this case could be an efficient scholar transport system. is that hard thing to do? Maybe it was costing the department more to have four schools within a 10km-15km radius, it would then make sense to merge all the schools. the bottomline is in your spindoctoring give us the facts and we the public, the voters will decide if this is fair or not. so i stand by what i said his level of arrogance is sickening Report Abuse

The fact is the environment we create for our children when their are young will affect them in their adulthood, it will affect what kind of people they become in society, you can grow up in poverty but as long as you create an optimistic environment for you child, instil confident and a sense of self worth in your child, and cultivate a nature of happiness in your child they will grow up to be capable adults. This is excactly my point, the monies have been accounted for. Recording unauthorised expenditure is being accountable. The money has been used for what it was not intended for - that's what I call accountability. So there are no monies within government that are not allocated somewhere.
@itsme4sure, funny thing is even wealthy people will tell you that happiness begins from the inside and the rest will take care of itself, look at how confident successful people are which in most cases we end up reading it as being cocky, this people have learned to be happy and successful in life. If you look at most people they are always complaining about things, which leads to more frustration, which leads them to depression and anger, this is why we are always pointing a finger at someone instead of ourselves. Any motivational speaker will tell that all successful people in life have learned to cultivate a culture of confidence, self reliant, content and happiness in themselves. This is what makes the deference between a person that makes it out of poverty and a person that stay in self pity and complain about all the things going wrong in their lives, I grew up and attended school in the townships and also had my obstacles in life but managed to over come them. We have disciplined members of the organization and we also have the tenderpreneurs masquarading as members of the organization and these scumbugs are the ones dragging the name of the organization into the mud. It's guys like Gershwin, who happens to live a comfortable life, who don't give a blo.ody damn about the plight of OUR people. There is nothing wrong with being a high income earner but there is not relashinship between being one and being happy.
The way I look at it is, happiness is the fuelling force behind being content and confident, which leads to determination and will power, which gives you the will drive to archive all you set you mind on, so if this boy wants to be an engineer he will need a driving force to will him to preserver, which through confidence in himself he will succeed, this is why this boy can't afford to warble in self pity and depression. Being an esteemed member of the ANC like me. I know know you understand that a huge majority of those who have been allocated tenders are members of business. Tenders are not allocated by the ANC but by government. This story touched my heart as you can tell with my first post. The mandate of government is to offer basic services to everyone but not to enrich everyone. Gershwin is a member of government and has earned the position by educating himself thus maybe he can afford to fend for his family better than the mother of this wonderful little pumpkin. Lets get the full story before we are taken by sentiment.
Happiness has nothing to do with possessions. Are you less happy if you have nothing? If I told you what the fuelling force for us working so hard, we'd be here the whole day and it has nothing to do with happiness, believe me.

@JajasQueen, to have things you desire is just the end result of your achievement, to be happy start from within yourself, this is why I say if you instil a sense of self worth , content and cultivate a nature of happiness in a child while they are still young, so that they grow up happy and positive minded, what they achieve is only the end result of what they think and their sense of self worth. I did not say having money will make you happy, you first have to look within yourself for happiness, a child raised happy will grow up happy and all the attributes of his or her happiness will create the character he or she becomes in their adulthood, if one of those attributes is ambition for money then that child will archive it, if it's passion for art, science, medicine etc then whatever that child sets their mind on they shall achieve. If you are happy with what you are doing then you do it better, you become more productive and you loose yourself in it, if you are not happy with what you are doing in life then you will be miserable for the rest of your life and will forever complain about everything.
_______________________
Happiness is very tricky for humans to understand. They normally think the feeling of elation is happiness, but it is not. Happiness is a state of being and has nothing to do with external stimulation. Like you get happy babies and miserable little honeys. Babies do not yet understand the gratification assoiciated with possession but they are categorised as happy and unhappy.

If you google the differences you will find the answer on the links and that's a fact.
You still don't get it, I'm not saying having things will make you happy or having money will make you happy. Its your responsibility as a parent to instil or created an environment or happiness for your baby, when a baby is born is born with no state of mind, thoughts and emotions are all they have, how they associate their thoughts with their emotion is your job to teach them, it's not about material possessions but how your child is raised and the personality they develop as a result of you parenting. If your kid comes to you and tells you they want to become a doctor or a dancer it's your job as their parents to encourage and support them, believe in your child, a child that feels such love, support and encouragement from their parents grows up happy. The child will grow up to associate actions with certain thoughts and emotions, if you have done your job proper as a parent then that child how they associate actions with their thoughts and emotion will result in what kind of person they have become. To say some babies are just miserable it's you failing them as a parent in instilling and cultivating a nature of happiness in them, you destine them to be miserable for the rest of their lives. 1. A fact is a reality that cannot be logically disputed or rejected. When one acknowledges a fact, they are doing just that. Facts are not discovered, facts are not created, facts are simply acknowledged.
2. A truth on the other hand, is almost the opposite. Truths are those things that are not simply acknowledged, but must be discovered, or created
to assert a fact as a truth, or a truth as a fact, is backwards thinking, and antithetical to intelligible progress.

sinudity as far as a country goes.... compared to others around the world lets look some relative advantages that could have should have been used for the benefit of all
Tourist Industry Potential: (which Greece relies on) the potential in this country higher than 90% of countries around the world because of our relative abundance of attractions...oceans, wine, landscapes, sports, african game, infrastructure, humans oldest history, climate, human diversity, ecological etc etc to be used for the benefit of all
only to be ruined by rampant crime...which is under governments control
Industial potential: an abundance of raw resources linked with cheap power MASSIVE competitive advantage over most countires in the world.
eg. we had technology and know how since many many years ago, we could have built and run and exported our own e toll systems around the world. but we import with on going out going payments wich would have had a multipier effect in our country.
ruined by a decision
Technology capability eg we had the rooivalk helicopter a long time ago only to be compared with the very best in the world.
Human potential....eg we are known around the world for the first human heart transplant, the first commercial astronaught, iconic leader such as Madiba , we had a competitive advatage in munufacture..to be compared with the very best in the world......
with these advantages we should only be comparing ourselves with the best in the world....

Gauteng was the hub for business activity for NP, thus the infrastructure. The e.cape was exile land for b.l.a.c.k.s and was considered outside the borders of SA. Do you know that the immorality act was not applied in the e.cape cause it was not part of SA.
Let's go back further to the 50's, 60's,70s, 80's and early 90's. Has the e.cape ever had any proper structures?

You are not making sense any more I said money or possession is not what influences what make you happy and that happiness comes from within not from external or physical reality. You say how a baby turns out has something to do with their respond and not whats done to them and at the same time you say external stimuli has nothing to do with anything, if you don't give your child love and abuse your child( external stimuli) do you mean to tell me that wont affect them at all and that for some miracle reason they will just grow up not affected by the past external factors in their lives when they were young, if so then this rules out the laws of cause and effect( Karma). I work a lot within community issues, especially in the area of abuse. Abuse is a no, no. But I have met the some very resilient people who had been horribly abused. It has something to do with how the mind processes the things that impact on our lives. Nothing to do with the event itself. I once met a woman who was raped and all she wanted to do during the ordeal was keep some evidence of the crime intact. So she made sure that she grabbed tight the criminals semen in her hand so it is not contaminated. Painful story, but it is about the internal manner in which we process stuff. Some people in an event like that will think of all sorts of things. You should read a book called The science of Self Realisation, by srila Brapupada, distributed by the Hare Krishna or The Secret of letting go by Guy Finley, you will understand our relationship with the world around us and we we react to it.

Its always an interesting scenario to me. I never fully comprehended the entirety of the Psychology behind the concept as I am an always will be more economically inclined where we do not look at the route taken to get somewhere, but the end result, but for me there is a combination of nature vs nurture and is more in a sense situational then set in stone. Look at this kid, its not nurture getting him to school its nature, there is a drive in him to go to school regardless of what his parents say, but then you get children of rich parents who become master strategist because they were nurtured to do so, but for me like I said I do not look at the amount of subjects I have to take to get my Masters, simply look at the end result as I want my Masters regardless of Nature or Nurture Report Abuse

If you have 101 people going East as they believe it is the route to Eden and you, the lone ranger is going West, you need to
1. re-visit your theory and tripple check the facts (A fact is a reality that cannot be logically disputed or rejected )
2. depending on the results in point 1, you can either proceed going West with the reality that you are alone or
3. do double time following the 101 going East.
Point 3 is usually the hardest to do as you can either keep quiet and hope that no one notices that you have joined the 101 or you can make excuses about West being the right direction whilst going East.

@JajasQueen, That what I'm saying that everything in this world how you react to it boils down to your thoughts and your emotions, this were your parenting comes in what you teach your child when young how to react to an action or condition. Most of us come from poor backgrounds and based on how we were raised in determines how we react to the poor conditions we find ourselves in, I was one of those child BA PHAPHANG( Speeta) and didn't let my circumstances put me down, how I reacted to my condition was because of how I was brought up by my parents, same as the women you speak of how she reacted to the rap is what make her deferent from other rap victims, it all boils down to what's in their minds, how their process thoughts in their minds and how reflect those thoughts through their emotion, this is why I say the deference between a person who makes it out of poverty and a person that stays complaining about things and warble in self pity, the deference is how we think what's instilled in you as a child, how your brain was conditioned by people surrounding you( parent, family, relatives and early childhood friends). The brain works with associations. It can only recognise what it knows. So you cannot explain poverty to someone who has no idea what it is. Try explaining racism to someone who has never experienced it? You have to know and experience something to be able to 'do' something about it.So there is nothing that your parents will tell that will make sense till you 'see' it.

This is not about explaining poverty to someone who has never experienced it, this is about a person who is already experiencing the conditions. When children are young they don't know the deference between themselves and other kids living in deferent conditions than them, it's only as they grow up through interacting with other children at school or socially that they start seeing the defence between them and other children, if you as a parent have instilled strong morals and sense of self worth in your child, how they react will depend on that on how you raise you child, to believe that they is nothing that you as a parent can do it means you don't have hope and don't have a positive outlook on life, this your child will learn, your child learns from you as their parents, if you are hopeless, negative and forever angry, depressed your child peaks this up from you they learn from your actions as their parents. It's up to you as a parent to create an optimistic environment from your child as you are their first mirror to the world, they learn the realities of this world from you as their parents, so if you are hopeless what reality are you teaching you child. Tabza: "The brain works with associations. It can only recognise what it knows". Nonsense. How does one educate oneself through reading about things you haven't heard of then. A dodgy argument based on a false premise. And your definition of racism is limited and thus flawed. It is not simply what "white" people display toward so-called "black people". but encompasses the reverse, as well as many many further variations - dislike of asian people; dislike of hispanic people, and so on and so on and on and on. So give me a break. Your argument seems valid, superficially, but the premise is completely false and your definitions are flawed. So really, it is worthless. Children come into this world built to survive and fully equiped to do so. You must not confuse natural ability with survival in this material world we have created. Naturally we do not have ownership of anything, but in this world we 'own' stuff. So the unawareness of impoverished conditions is natural to a child, because a child comes into the world not expecting to own anything, only to survive. Parents often instill fear, not morals. Fear is in line with a set of consequences. "Morals" are created by an individual when they are able to make choices.

You need to read the book written by guy finley to understand how the brain associates events to emotions to effect a reaction. It's amazing! It will change how you interact with the world around you. Unfortunately the book involves a lot of religion which is not my favourite subject. But for the information it carries, you learn to ignore the religious stuff and go for the marrow. I love a young person who is searchin and inquires on what we have been taught. Modern teachings have nothing to do with our real nature and destiny. They are about industralization and how to make money to keep the system going. If all of us stopped creating a reason to print money, the system will collapse.

Can you read or did you read my above comments. Were did I confuse natural abilities with survival in this material world, Like I said a child is born with no state of mind, to say parents instil fear in their children but not moral doesn't make sense, in instilling fear in a child what moral are you teaching them, by just instilling fear already you are shaping the child's mind, the child can grow to become a bully and instil fear in others or the child can grow to be fearful in life and accomplish nothing. You as a parent are responsible for the early the development of your child, you cannot just leave them to grow up and not give them morals and say they will decide their own morals when they grow up. Firstly, you write long paragraphs which irritate me. But I do look for points you make to comment to. Maybe if you shorten your stuff i will be more attentive. Like I said no one can can give you morality, there is no standard morality in nature. Instilling fear is the reason why our society is failing day by day, people work on guilt, which is a negative emotion. A child is born with a full a complete state of mind. They just lack the experience to recognise stuff and make it work. A two year old has seen every natural emotion and situation that is required to make decissions. That's why we mis-interprete them as the terrible two's instead of acknowledging that the child is maturing into a 'thinking' not rebellious human being.

A two year old has learnt everything they need to survive. In my experience no one teaches a two year old about lust or corruption. But all those are already built in their heads ready to manifest when the time is right. It's like sex - no one taught you about sex. One day it was the most disgusting thing to do and the next you were a willing participant. Death for one; two year olds know what it is...two year olds don't bring home dead birds or worms they picked up, they bring live ones. They are averted to death as we are. All we need to survive is built within us. We do not need to go out and look for it. Society has created a train of thought that makes it easier for the majority to be controlled, that was all at the begining of politics. People had to think the same in order for governments to control them. There had to be a central point for accountability. There is nothing like that in nature.
That's what I said, and it is. My concern is that availing transportation could be a problem as maybe there are no formal roads to the school. I am proud of the fact that he has access to education to make his dreams come true.

Jaja'squeenit is a known fact that everybody in life makes a bad decision at some point. Maybe it was costing the department more to have four schools within a 10km-15km radius, it would then make sense to merge all the schools. the bottomline is in your spindoctoring give us the facts and we the public, the voters will decide if this is fair or not. so i stand by what i said his level of arrogance is sickening

The fact is the environment we create for our children when their are young will affect them in their adulthood, it will affect what kind of people they become in society, you can grow up in poverty but as long as you create an optimistic environment for you child, instil confident and a sense of self worth in your child, and cultivate a nature of happiness in your child they will grow up to be capable adults.Report Abuse

This is what makes the deference between a person that makes it out of poverty and a person that stay in self pity and complain about all the things going wrong in their lives, I grew up and attended school in the townships and also had my obstacles in life but managed to over come them.Report Abuse

These are situations where one, despite allegiance, where one has to draw the line between objectivity and subjectivity.

So happiness is the key to life.

Tenders are not allocated by the ANC but by government. This story touched my heart as you can tell with my first post. The mandate of government is to offer basic services to everyone but not to enrich everyone. @Tabza325isThe fact is the environment we create for our children when their are young will affect them in their adulthood, it will affect what kind of people they become in society, you can grow up in poverty but as long as you create an optimistic environment for you child, instil confident and a sense of self worth in your child, and cultivate a nature of happiness in your child they will grow up to be capable adults.

If you are happy with what you are doing then you do it better, you become more productive and you loose yourself in it, if you are not happy with what you are doing in life then you will be miserable for the rest of your life and will forever complain about everything._______________________

@JajasQueenYou still don't get it, I'm not saying having things will make you happy or having money will make you happy.

You personally would not rehire the same maid, knowing very well of her incompetencies, instead you will look for a new one or take her for training & keep in mind the latter option would actually benefit you in a long run; so I am actually dumbfounded as to why you so passionately dispute what is by basing the whole thing on facts & numbers gathered & manipulated by the very people (ANC govt) the data is intended to protect?

sinudity as far as a country goes.... compared to others around the world lets look some relative advantages that could have should have been used for the benefit of allTourist Industry Potential: (which Greece relies on) the potential in this country higher than 90% of countries around the world because of our relative abundance of attractions...oceans, wine, landscapes, sports, african game, infrastructure, humans oldest history, climate, human diversity, ecological etc etc to be used for the benefit of all
only to be ruined by rampant crime...which is under governments control

You need to understand the basics of human make up. External stimuli has nothing to do with our destiny or our reactions to stimulus. So how a baby turns out has something to do with how they respond and not what's done to them. Google the life of Jefrey Dahmer, the most lovingly raised kid, became a monster.
You are not making sense any more I said money or possession is not what influences what make you happy and that happiness comes from within not from external or physical reality. The only external influence that shapes a child's mind is you as their parents, what you instil and cultivate in them. You said some babies are miserable which is why I said you are destining the child for misery and failure, as you as their parent are failing to cultivate this culture in them.

@Tabza325isI work a lot within community issues, especially in the area of abuse.

OFFLIMITSIts always an interesting scenario to me. I never fully comprehended the entirety of the Psychology behind the concept as I am an always will be more economically inclined where we do not look at the route taken to get somewhere, but the end result, but for me there is a combination of nature vs nurture and is more in a sense situational then set in stone. Look at this kid, its not nurture getting him to school its nature, there is a drive in him to go to school regardless of what his parents say, but then you get children of rich parents who become master strategist because they were nurtured to do so, but for me like I said I do not look at the amount of subjects I have to take to get my Masters, simply look at the end result as I want my Masters regardless of Nature or Nurture

If you have 101 people going East as they believe it is the route to Eden and you, the lone ranger is going West, you need to1. re-visit your theory and tripple check the facts (A fact is a reality that cannot be logically disputed or rejected )
2. depending on the results in point 1, you can either proceed going West with the reality that you are alone or
3. do double time following the 101 going East.

Most of us come from poor backgrounds and based on how we were raised in determines how we react to the poor conditions we find ourselves in, I was one of those child BA PHAPHANG( Speeta) and didn't let my circumstances put me down, how I reacted to my condition was because of how I was brought up by my parents, same as the women you speak of how she reacted to the rap is what make her deferent from other rap victims, it all boils down to what's in their minds, how their process thoughts in their minds and how reflect those thoughts through their emotion, this is why I say the deference between a person who makes it out of poverty and a person that stays complaining about things and warble in self pity, the deference is how we think what's instilled in you as a child, how your brain was conditioned by people surrounding you( parent, family, relatives and early childhood friends).Report Abuse

But enjoy that smug emptiness and have a good afternoon.Report Abuse

@Tabza325isChildren come into this world built to survive and fully equiped to do so.

Children MEEP into this MEEP built to MEEP and fully MEEP to do MEEP. You MEEP not MEEP natural MEEP with MEEP in this MEEP world we MEEP MEEP. MEEP we do not have oMEEPMEEPwnership of anything, but in this world we 'MEEP' stuff. So the unawareness of impoverished MEEP is natural to a child, because a child comes into the world not MEEP to own MEEP, only to MEEP. MEEP often iMEEPMEEPnstill fear, not morals. MEEP is in line with a set of MEEP. "Morals" are created by an indiviMEEPdual when they are able to MEEP choices.

@Tabza325isFirstly, you write long paragraphs which irritate me.

To say 7km is not far shows sheer ignorance and naivety on the side of chuenyane. As a an education student it pains me to see what this young boy has to endure daily to get educated, i mean he has lost his father, his mother is unemployed, struggles to eat, struggles to get to school and has to be subjected to constant mockery from other children. This Mr Chuenyane is what we call barriers to learning is plaquing a large portion of our population. what if it was one of your children if any, going through the same fate and you were told that 7km is not far. PATHETIC!!!!Report Abuse

@JajasQueen, "A two year old has seen every natural emotion and situation that is required to make decissions"A 2 year old, what can they tell you about lust, corruption, inadequacy etc, can a 2 year old define an intuitive motion, a child at that age still has everything to learn, even you as an adult they is still a lot for you to learn, at any given moment you use only 5% of you given mind. A 2 year old is still emotionally young, how do you explain to them things like death and funerals.

JajasQueen
@Tabza325isA two year old has learnt everything they need to survive.
