Christian camp counsellor arrested for sex abuse

A Christian camp counsellor is expected to appear in the Himeville Magistrate’s Court in the Underberg this week for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter and stepdaughter

The 41-year-old was arrested at a local campsite, run by the Scripture Union SA, on March 2, the Sunday Tribune reported. He was a manager at the site.

He faces charges of sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

The man allegedly assaulted the girls in 2009.

His daughter was 17 at the time, his stepdaughter 13.

Scripture Union SA director Tony Nzanzah told the newspaper they found child pornography on his computer three days before his arrest.

He had since been barred from the camp.
