Youth Agency gets R376-million instead of the R404-million it wanted

THE National Youth Development Agency has lashed out at National Treasury for reducing its budget allocation for the current financial year, accusing the department of failing the youth.

The agency's executive chairman, Andile Lungisa, yesterday said he did not understand why the agency's allocation was reduced by R10-million when it received clean audits from the Auditor-General.

In his budget speech, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan allocated R376-million to the agency, compared with last year' s R386-million.

Lungisa said they had expected R404-million.

Good work Finance Minister, you should have gone further and give them only R100m.
I don't even know who Lungisa is talking about when he say Treasury is failing the youth.
