Call for the Khoisan to be recognised as the first indigenous nation in South Africa
THE Khoisan demanded recognition and that their land claims be addressed in a protest outside the department of rural development and land reform in Pretoria yesterday.
The group of about 20 Khoisan was watched by Tshwane metro police as Stephen Katz, of the SA Progressive Civic Organisation, handed a memorandum to a senior departmental official.
In the memorandum the group demanded that the Khoisan be recognised as the first indigenous nation in South Africa.
Katz said that according to the South African Constitution, the Khoisan did not exist and he demanded that their land claims be addressed.
"We wish to remind the president of his statement made at our national consultative conference on 29 March 2001.
"He acknowledged us as the first indigenous nation of South Africa and that we will be granted recognition enabling us to have access to our dispossessed land," Katz said.

What kind of recognition are they talking about because we concider them as our AFRICAN brothers who originate in the AFRICAN LAND,by classifying them according to there tribes and clans is only going to complicate things example we have BATSWANA, BASOTH, BAPEDI, MASULU, MAVENDA, MATHOTSA etc if we go back to homelands BOPHUTHATSWANA was a country of BATSWANA and accomodated c.oloureds and whites,,VENDA accomodated its ppl,same applies to TRANSKEI OR CISKEI..NATAL wer fro the ZULUS all this homelands wer COUNTRIES by that time.so are we talking about the OLD SOUTH AFRICA or the NEW SOUTH AFRICA?BEFORE the khoi and the san originate SOUTH AFRICA wer wer they at the biggining?and how come they are being sidelined what part did they play to advance SOUTH AFRICA?instead of shouting ownership they never fought for?BLACK SOUTH AFRICAN are the first inhabitants of this LAND are the.THAT HISTORY SUGGESTING khoisan are the 1st is untrue and wer never challenged we can not concider it ligitimate bcos whites pushed there own agenda knowing the khoisan are small in groups and they can claim watever they want just like today.to HE.LL WITH WHITE PROPAGANDA..sorry xbusi FOR USING YOUR FAVOURITE WORD

I say give them all the land which consist of deserts i.e parts of North West, Namibia and so forth for we all know KoiKoi are not farmers so what the hell would they do with farmable land, So ya give them all the land they want as long as its not farmable, and to be honest there are no pure breed Khoi, all of them have traces of European or Bantu blood in them, so please they need to calm down on this whole thing of this land being theres and could someone please interpret thier drawings coz i see people with big calfs and butts, and are you trying to tell me that they were drawind themselves yet they are skinny.....Ow the first part- Give them the land if they can prove to be pure KhoiReport Abuse

T.C.T - Muldred used them for his battle, but the Khoisan realised that there was truth in his statement. The Khoisan are indeed the original inhabitants of South Africa.If I have a house, but I dont use one room...
Does that give people the right to simply move into the room? :P
