IT TOOK only seven minutes for four armed men to walk out of a grocery store with an undisclosed amount of cash yesterday.

ASSAULTED: Lamliki Khalid who manages the grocery store that was robbed.

In CCTV footage that was viewed by Sowetan, four men are seen entering at Everyday Cash and Carry.

The grocery store is on the corner of Kerk and Troye streets in Joburg. None of the robbers had covered their faces.

At about 5.43am the main door of the store is seen half-opened and a woman employed as a cleaner is about to enter.

Suddenly a man wearing black pants, a matching T-shirt and a white cap follows her into the store. A few seconds later he is followed by another three men.

Inside the store they find a cleaner and a security guard who is reading a newspaper. The robbers then pull out their pistols.

Three of them charge at the security guard and pistol whip him, while the fourth man goes to close the shop's door. He then stands guard.

Then another security guard, carrying a bottle of water, calmly walks into the shop. The guard is expected to relieve the night shift guard who has been injured by the robbers.

The three men order the cleaner and security guard to go upstairs, with guns pointing at them from behind.

The fourth robber points his firearm at the second guard, who then lies down. He strips the guard's jacket and puts it on.

The man walks away and the guard is seen standing up and drinking his water.

Upstairs the three robbers go to the office of the manager, Khalid Lamliki.

"I saw them coming to my office and I locked the door. One of them broke the door and ordered me to come out," Lamliki said.

He said he surrendered and was assaulted.

"We went to another room where the cash was stored. All the time, the men pointed guns at me. They went to four bags which were loaded with cash. The robbers knew where the money was and what to take," he said.

They loaded the cash into a bag and freely walked out of the store.

Captain Pinky Tsinyane said they have arrested a 30-year-old man who is an employee at the store.

This smacks of an inside job....the conduct of the second security guard who woke up and drink water during the robbery does not befit that of a security guard in the circumstances.

My take is the money was stacked away for move to the bank as their say the robbers knew exactly where the money was. Id say just Bad judgement on Employer side he put his trust in the wrong people
