Cop 'robbed' crime victim

A POLICE officer has been arrested after he allegedly demanded money from a crime victim to open a docket, Limpopo police said.

The sergeant, 45, was arrested at his home in Ga- Mathabatha on Wednesday.

The victim tried to open a case at Apel police station after R30,000 and a cellphone were stolen from his workplace at Atok Mine.

The sergeant allegedly asked him for R1,500 to open a docket.

The victim paid the sergeant R1,200 and informed the police .

The officer is expected to appear in court today on a corruption charge.

What the F&ck is it with this Limpopo, next we r going to hear that a judge raped an advocate, then bribed the investigator during investigation.

This is an example of systemic corruption. Hopefully quick action like this will prevent systemic corruption from setting in. In Kenya and India you have to budget for a bribe whenever you approach a government agency or you will not be served by the corrupt officials and we should not let SA to come to that.

I am happy that it is not my friend Bally Nchabeleng or Maditsi....In 2009 there was an ATM bomb at Standard Bank, Apel Plaza and the investigations revealed that some of the policeman at Apel police station were involved....I just hope the police who is currenty involved in this bribery activity is dismissed....
