abuti wee let me tell you something, i have met three ve.ndas in my life and what i experinced is not pleasant, the first one i met @ varsity in 2005 and he was a "good friend" or so i thought- 3 months ago i asked him to do submit plans for me at the council and i gave him money for that and for petrol coz he was using his car. after less than a month i call the council to check on the plans, only to find that ve.nda spent the money on his sh!t and he didnt submit them.
the second one i met in 2008 at work, i thought she was a good person, and in 2009 my sister went to work for the same co. but i had already left. my sister was stabbed in the back to the boss la te moer by this ve.nda who i thought was a decent human being.
the third i met his year. a grown as$ man @ 35 years of age still living at home with mama le papa. every time he will tell me that he wants to have lots of kids, like i would do that with a man still having a 10 o'clock curfew.
should i continue?

Am glad Mbeki was moved being the president. We were starting to get bored, sick and tired by the escalating number of dumb Xhosa men as PA's in government (Pretoria specifically). This is a very serious issue. As a country we have a very good constitution which deals at times with serious issue in a very lenient manner due to human rights (whether this is right or wrong, topic for another day). One such is tried and convicted criminals. Not long ago there was a case of a Nigerians living in Pta who were arrested for dealing and manufacturing cocaine in their townhouse. I haven't heard much since then, and this is not the first or only case. Our SAPS does a sterling job in arresting such people only to be let down by our justice system or the very same SAPS (by dockets going missing or insufficient evidence). Take this case as an example, some say if convicted (of which she will be), its 20 years or life imprisonment. Her case will not be postponed or dragged for a year like we always do here eMzantsi.
One of the things to learn from the Asians countries is dealing harshly with drug mules, then we shall be a step closer to being a better South Africa for All who live in it.

For example, they say the unemployment rate in South Africa is 25% whereas the actual number is closer to 40%, if you don't how I got the 40% number then google and read, instead of looking at German cars in magazines. I don't care much about Xhosa people either. I'll talk to Xhosa people in my workplace and in politics, otherwise all you lot can just f*k off to the EC and fix your dilapidated (Zimbabwe like) province.

I don't hate Xhosa people, I just find it appalling that MOST people who are materialistic that I come across in my life are Xhosa. I think it's healthy to have a discussion like this, and obviously people like me will be hated because they have said something that most South Africans think of but don't say, i.e. Xhosa = Money, Xhosa women = stolen husband, etc.

I can say the same about other tribes. And I have quite a number of non Xhosa friends who will whisper that they dont want a guy that drives a 2 series and be over the moon coz they have bagged a guy who is an engineer or a qualified CA and all that but I dont generalize about the whole tribe. There are also a lot of non Xhosa's who have stolen somebody's husband, its just a woman thing!! Maybe the issue would be, some Xhosa's are then more vocal, but trust me, in every woman you meet, there is potential to be materialistic!! Its not a Xhosa thing but a woman thing. And I am a woman, a Xhosa, but I dont look at possessions or material (and my Xhosa friends have the same belief system), so does that make the Xhosa tribe a non materialistic tribe?

This may sound unfair, but she made her bed. We cant be seen or even appear to be a nation which accepts wrong doing. Going forward, we should rather tighten our grip on crime and deal with drug smuggling within our borders and any other crime for that matter. We should have a zero tolerance such as these Asians countried have.

I think we should make a movie depicting the reality and dangers of drug smuggling! This must be shown to all our youth - to make them run away from such kind of activities.

We still should not look the other way and say oh ok police are corrupt anyway. Something should be done about the corrupt police. The problem is we have too many rights enshrined in our constitution. I am not saying its wrong. But if we had a proper justice system whereby tried and convicted criminals dont have it easy or live in luxury in jails, give out harsher sentences, we would not have second time offenders and people would be scared of doing crime. The problem starts with our pres and ministers that say everything we want to hear with no implementation. We need to deal with corruption harshly. Corruption can be uprooted if we start holding the public servants who have been proven of such activities to account. Jail time or paying back what has been stolen.
Why should we have videos for the youth to teach against drug smuggling? Its not as if they dont know already. All we need to do is report these cases, like the recent China execution, the Beetge lady and now this. They will know it doesnt pay. Police used to visit schools to talk about crime, so if these kids dont listen, what more should we do. There are posters all over saying "Crime does not pay" but they still commit crime. For as long as we have "Bra Joe" who is a neighbour known for his illegal doings, but still roaming the streets of the townships and respected by everyone in the community, we have a long way to go.
We just cant leave it at saying police are corrupt because at the end, with all those videos they can still do crime coz they will still know that the police are corrupt and therefore can get away with wrong doing. Thats just my take.

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested at Cape Town International Airport when a search of their luggage revealed the presence of cocaine.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel André Traut said a 44 year old Nigerian man and a 30 year old South African woman were arrested on Tuesday morning. The two had appeared nervous, which prompted members attached to the Border Police to search them.
“They were en-route to Johannesburg. Together with the one kilogram of cocaine which was hidden between cardboard. An amount of R230 000, suspected to be part of their drug operation, was also found in their possession,” said Traut.
The pair were due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. - Staff Reporter

When you do not know who you are you always bend to either racism or tribalism. There is no difference betwen Xhosa and Zulu or Sotho and Tswana and there is no difference between all tribes that use the common words such as wena, abantu, bathu. What we see today as difference is superficial and based on ignorance, this is just similiar to discriminating your uncle or aunties's children(cousins) Once upon a time we were all speaking on language and down the line of time we spread into two clans ie. Nguni and Sotho,which did not mean that one clan became clever wiser than the other. Later on the Nguni divided into two groups Xhosa and Zulu whilst the Sotho group divided into Sotho and Tswana, if we look at this division it all about the growth ,just like an embriotic cell divides in to different cells. This division continued and we now have Bapedi, amaHlubi, amaBhaca,amaShangani,and these groups divided further. So this division was not influenced by who has a better brain than others that means if Zulus are stupid ,dull and ignorant that makes all other tribes stupid,dull and ignorant too, because they all divided from the the mother cell that produced Ngunis and Sothos,the" foolishness" fronm the mother gene cannot just be a dna print of one tribe it is in every tribe. In short what people say about other tribe is just an unfounded myth based on a fake superiority complex which not different to racism, and it should stop. In this day and age when we are discovering planets with a possibily of life sustaining environment(Kepler 55) we still have people who are buried in 4 century tribalism. well at SAPolice we know as a matter of fact that some gov minsters (wives) are tainted in the drug pushing business, so without a doubt majority of it is brought into our shores by them, and the corrupt police who arrest drug dealers once this has been used for evidence they also use that to make profit, so until such time we have a CLEAN and I mean CLEAN gov ONLY then shall we effectively deal with criminals within and outside the gov, for my part I can't blame common man on the road when we have criminals within the gov setting all these criminal examples for our people.Report Abuse
