A South African woman was arrested at Bangkok's international airport after police said they found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in her dreadlocks, a news report said Tuesday.
Nobanda Nolubabalo, 23, was searched Monday when police said they noticed a white substance in her hair shortly after she stepped off a Qatar Airways flight that originated in San Paulo and flew through Qatar to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Bangkok Post said.
The search uncovered 1.5 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of 4.5 million baht (150,00 dollars) hidden in her dreadlocks, authorities said.
Police said the suspect admitted smuggling the drug and said she had been hired for 60,000 baht to deliver it to a customer at a hotel in Bangkok.

Arrest her, charge her, convict her and sentence her to death penalty. Inject her with a lethal poison and let her be dead. South African ladies must learn to undersatnd that in other parts of the world, crime is a no no unlike here were crime is treated with kid gloves...I am mean really, we just had another South Africa executed in China and now this one......To hell with her. She admitted that she is in fact a drug mule.Report Abuse

Our people should learn that other countries don't take "jojo" like south africa does. After the incident in china our sister is doing the same mistake. For others to learn, let the law take course in that country and government shouldn't intervene as they knew what they were doing...Report Abuse

Our government must just stay far away from this. No diplomatic intervention. No appeal for clemency. No communication the Bankok judicial authorities......Nothing. A prostitute is even better because she sells.......Report Abuse

@ApelMankotsana.....You are right there, this thing of our government interfearing on other countries laws is just not on.We are really sending a wrong message to those who are thinking of doing this. These ladies never learn. They are used by these Nigerians and Chinese to courier drugs and hence these Nigerian drug dealers prosper in our Country while our mostly young female citizen suffer the consequences. South African is criminals playground from all walks of life. Drugs dealers, human traffickers, hijacked/stolen car dealers use South Africa as distribution point to other countries.
We have been complaining about our borders and lack of justice system for too long and nothing, absolutely nothing is being done by our government of the day.
