AFRO-POP star Ntando Bangani who has made himself a name in the music industry is moving to the hair business.

Yesterday Bangani launched his Bornfire Hair Salon in the heart of Johannesburg.

The singer joins celebrities such as Babalwa Mneno, Jabu Stone and Kedibone Mkhabela who have successfully ventured into hair business.

Clients can enjoy manicure, pedicure, shave, hair-cut, weaves and dreadlocks treatment at the s alon.

Bangani said he realised that a hair salon was the most suitable business for him because of the money he spends taking care of his locks.

"I am creating job opportunities for other people while growing as a businessman.

"I chose a hair salon because this is where I spend a lot of money doing my hair.

"I have tried to create a vibey and simple atmosphere for the clients.

"My aim is for people to be as comfortable as they can while doing their hair."

The award-winning singer said because of his busy schedule as a musician, he would not be fully hands-on in the salon's daily operations.

"I have someone who understands the industry who will be running things. I don't want a situation where I am forcing things in an industry that I do not understand well."

He said he wanted to expand the salon to other provinces.

Bangani has just released his 5th album Izaga that is doing well.

He launched his music career with Kwantu, his debut album.

The album was quickly followed by Mvelaphi.

In 2007 the artist started his own independent record company Born Fire Entertainment and released his two albums Uhambo Lwami and Inkqubela.
