PRINCESS Charlene of Monaco has pledged over R1-million to charity in honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's 80th birthday.
The Giving Organisation Trust said yesterday that Princess Charlene informed the trust of her R1,080,000 donation on Saturday evening, said spokeswoman Lesley O'Connor.
The princess, co-patron of the trust with Tutu, said she hoped her contribution would encourage the public and corporate sector to honour the Archbishop by donating to those in need.

As much I'm not the Arch biggest fan, this is for the good cause....why are you people always negative? Mandela has been dancing and laughing all the way to the bank more than anyone I know in this country. And very few people make a fuss about it. Get a life!Report Abuse

Steve Biko & Sleak 3035You must be the dumbest, most ignorant things that have crawled from under a rock in a long time.
What have you ever done for your fellow man, black or white? Is it a problem that a white person donates money to a charity that will probably go mainly to poor black people?
Bishop Tutu does not earn anything from the donation, it goes to charity you b@ms.

@ Blackthought, good point. The Nelson Mandela Children's fund makes millions for charity. Thank God we have people like the Arch and Madiba who can generate such large amounts of money for charity.Report Abuse
