THE head of the Limpopo department of cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Nkomotane Motsepe, has been recognised as the best manager in the public sector in South Africa.
Motsepe won the award in the 2011 Public Sector Visionary category. It was awarded by the Van Ryn's Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) magazine at Emperors Palace in Gauteng at the weekend.
BBQ award coordinator Faith Feni said yesterday that the awards were aimed at paying tribute to those who helped pave the way towards economic transformation.
Since 2009, Motsepe has received 19 awards for excellence in service delivery.
His department was also recognised by the national ministry of human settlements for its sterling contribution to the development of integrated human settlements in Limpopo.
It also received a clean bill of health from the auditor-general for the 2010-2011 financial year.
