Two pupils charged with rape

CAPE Town police say two young boys, who allegedly had sex with girls at their school last month, have been charged with rape.

This comes after the parents of the girls opened a case against the boys.

Last month Cape Town community newspaper Vukani reported that a group of pupils had sex at a primary school in Philippi. They were discovered by a caretaker.

The five Grade 5 pupils - three boys and two girls aged between 13 and 15 - were allegedly caught on September 26.

A video clip filmed by one of the boys showed a girl lying on her back on the grass with her skirt pulled up while a boy lay on top of her with his school pants pulled down while another girl and the other boy watched.

Cape Town police spokesman André Traut confirmed yesterday that a group of school children had sex at the school premises.

Western Cape department of education spokesman Paddy Attwell said they were concerned about the incident and were working closely with the school to address the problem.
