MEDI-CLINIC Limpopo, a private hospital in Polokwane, was yesterday kept busy with prominent and ordinary people flooding the institution to see ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema, who has been admitted there.

Malema was admitted on Wednesday suffering from a bout of flu. By late yesterday he was still at the hospital and authorities there refused to shed light on his condition and when he was likely to be discharged.

Among those who were seen visiting the institution was the league's spokesman Floyd Shivambu,general-secretary Sindiso Magaqa, Frans Moswane, Jacob Lebogo, the league's Limpopo chairman and secretary respectively, Maite Marutha, ANC Women's League Limpopo chairwoman, her secretary Maleke Mokganyetsi, and ANC Women's League NEC member, who is also Limpopo MEC for public works, Thabitha Mohlala.

Malema's grandmother Sarah Malema, 82, also visited him on Wednesday night.

Malema's disciplinary hearing was yesterday postponed to October 15 after his lawyers asked for the postponement.

"The disciplinary hearing of Julius Malema was postponed due to the hospitalisation of the charged member," said ANC national disciplinary committee member Derek Hanekom.

"The NDC wishes Malema a speedy recovery."

The hospital's spokesperson Istha McMillan confirmed that security was tight at the ward where Malema is being kept.

She said security personnel were working "day and night" to ensure that Malema was "safe and not disturbed" while at the institution.

Shivambu yesterday declined to give any information on Malema's condition to the media contingent camping outside the hospital.

"We have released a statement to warn members of the media against making enquiries about Malema's condition and please respect that," he said before slamming the door of his car and driving off.
