A LIMPOPO man was arrested on Monday for allegedly strangling his wife to death.
Charles Mashego of Vaalkraal in Dennilton, Sekhukhune, allegedly killed his wife, Mamisana Thobejane, the mother of a six-week-old baby. It is alleged that Mashego suspected that his wife was cheating on him.
The incident allegedly took place on Thursday and Mashego only turned himself in to the police on Monday.
Provincial ANC Women's League chairperson Maite Marutha said the incident is "an insult to the celebration of Women's Month".
Marutha said there were many ways of dealing with family problems, such as speaking to ward councillors, pastors or headmen rather than taking the life of another person.
