Gumen in Kagiso opened fire on police - One of the shots went through a shack where a young mother and her 4-year-old daughter were sleeping. Sowetan photographer Antonio Muchave went to the area to meet the mom and her little girl, touched by their miraculous escape.
The shootout happened at 2am.
The bullet hit the litle girl's woollen hat and grazed her forehead.
The men ran away.
