Two teenagers attacked, raped
Police have appealed to parents not to allow their children to go out alone at night
This comes after two teenage girls were attacked and raped in different incidents in the Free State last week.
A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at an open space in Thabong on Thursday at about 8pm.
On Friday, also at about 8pm, a 13-year-old girl was also raped.
"It is reported that she was called by the suspect, who threatened her with a knife and raped her.
"He then took her cellphone and cash after raping her," said Thabong police spokesperson Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana.
"She (13-year-old) was on her way from church when she met her alleged attacker. It is alleged that he took her by force and raped her.
"We are appealing to parents to take care of their young girls.
"Parents should know the whereabouts of their underage children and ensure that they are safe from heartless rapists who prey on children," he said.
Head of cluster family violence, child protection and sexual offences Lieutenant-Colonel Kedibone Gopane said: "It is our duty to see to it that all citizens are safe and we need the support of the community members to achieve this.
"Let us not give criminals access to our precious teenagers by letting them walk or play at night."
Thabiso Botman, 20, has appeared in the Welkom magistrate's court for allegedly raping the 15-year-old girl, while 24-year-old Letume Motlogelwa has been charged with the rape of the 13-year-old girl.

My heart boils when i read this article.It's school holidays and my daughter(12) is in town for a visit.Me and her mom works and we left her at the house alone.There is a garden man and two ladie who are renting at the back rooms.With them around,we think our daughter is safe.If something like this can happen to her and if the person is known to her,no case will be opened.I'm telling you ppl,and the sun won't set for that rapist.I will make sure i cut his thingg piece by piece and make him die a very slow death.I'm always calling at the house to check if she is ok every 5 minutes.I love my daughters and i will kill for them if i have to.No one must take a chnce on them including their mother.
