ANC heavyweight Fikile Mbalula says he is confident that the party is going to win the majority of wards during next week's elections.

Mbalula was speaking at a fund-raising dinner at a restaurant in Atholl, Johannesburg.

"There is no political party that will stand in our way. There are media reports that the ANC will face tough competition in the DA.

"Those reports that there will be two bulls that will be competing in the elections are false. There is only one bull which is the ANC, and it will emerge victorious," he said.

Mbalula, who is also the sports minister, attacked the DA and Cope saying they were "mickey mouse" parties that did not have the capabilities of defeating the ANC.

"Helen Zille can't give us a lecture about freedom. She does not know the feeling of being a widow, the pain of losing a son during the struggle against apartheid," said Mbalula.

He labelled Zille as a madam and Patricia de Lille and Lindiwe Mazibuko as her maids.

"One maid on her other side (Patricia de Lille) has failed in the PAC and formed her party, she later took her followers to her madam. On the other side, the madam has (Mazibuko), an African who speaks English in an unknown accent.

"The DA represents backwardness. Everything that is wrong is represented there."

He also attacked Cope: "Look at them, they are fighting among themselves. Their leadership was appointed by a judge."

Mbalula said the ANC was the only party that has delivered and will continue to deliver services.

He said in Johannesburg, Soweto was an example of service delivery.

"We have turned hostels into family units. We are confident of victory. If our members come out in numbers and vote for the ANC, we are going back to reclaim the city of Cape Town ... and we have a great plan to do that," Mbalula said.

Fikile Mbalula maybe your party anc should focus on improving lives of ordinary South Africans..Your party is a ruling party but act like a opposition...start acting like a ruling party and do what struggle icons fought for...a non racial South Africa.

What a pathetic comment!
If ignorance, arrogance and stupidity were winning streaks the ANC would win hands down!

Helen Zille has done more against apartheid than these Johny-come-lately motor mouths.
Patricia de Lille has exposed more corruption by the ruling party than anyone else.
Lindiwe Mazibuko speaks clearly in a well modulated voice( Is that now a crime?) and clearly has direction of purpose.

Fikile Mbalula can't fault them for anything substantial, so he uses ad hominem attacks (attacks the person and not their argument and position) to play to the crowds.

Grow up Fikile Mbalula - any one of these ladies has more brains and integrity in their little finger than you have in you whole body!

Get off your soap box and DO something for the people.
Trying to put another person (party) down doesn't make you clever, it show your character flaws, of which there are many!

The South African politics are deteriorating into a hip hop and kwaito kind of politics. Politicians are no longer wooing electorate by presenting their policies and selling them to the electorate, they are now wooing the electorate by attacking each other in how one dresses, labelling others as madams, how one dances and all these nonsense. I think the political parties, more especially, the ruling party must spend most of its electioneering time explaining to us as to what is that which they promised the voters before now, what were the successes and faiures and how they intend remedying the failures and be honest, instead of engaging in hip-hop politics.

Politics is not for the faint-hearted, i dont see anything wrong with Mr Mbalula.
They are doing the same with Mr Obama in the USA, the call Obama a monkey, foreighner, stupid etc.
Politic is a dirty game, you use everything at you dispossal to win voters, you can even give them food.
