The petition alleged that murder accused Mduduzi Manqele, a wealthy traditional healer, was "well-known for keeping evil creatures that collect dockets from court. We fear, once released, his evil creatures will tamper with the investigations," the petition continued.

A crowd of of people, who had travelled about 45km to the court, protested loudly outside.

Manqele, 48, and co-accused Roger Thusi, 30, face charges of murdering Loyisa Jokweni, 18, whose head was found in a freezer in the home of Thusi's girlfriend in Pietermaritzburg.

A source in the community said Thusi led the police to Manqele after allegedly being told by him to behead Jokweni and put the head in a freezer "to get rich".

Magistrate Bessie du Toit granted Manqele bail after his counsel Martin Krog submitted that there was no evidence against him. Krog said the allegations against Manqele in the petition were baseless.

Du Toit refused Thusi's application for bail and adjourned the case to March 30.

Is this really true guy? I doubt. We know there is witchcraft but stealing dockets from Court its something else. But if thats the case keep that Mthakathi inside he doesn't belong with human beings, he's an animal.

I personally do not belief so called stealing of dockets. Those dockets must be missed up by those who work on it. If the story holds water, why can he send those tokoloshe to banks to steal money? If those tokoloshe can do that i promise to walk nakedly every day.

Manqele the purpose of a traditional healer is to heal people with desperate need resulting from nature's causes not the other way round. Wena you are not a healer instead you are practising witch-craft which is against your obligations. So now that you chose go loya instead of go thusa - you deserve HELL. I know the mother of the other guys made her child not to have a case but he was acuse number one, acuse number 2 and 3 they still attend a case which they were arrested with that guy.
