ANC intervenes in Malema case
The case relates to Malema's repeated use of the term "shoot the Boer" in lyrics sung publicly last year
THE application by the ANC to intervene in the hate speech case brought by AfriForum against ANC Youth League president Julius Malema was postponed until tomorrow in the Johannesburg high court.
Judge Colin Lamont postponed the hearing of the application in a ruling yesterday.
"There was another development in the case as a result of the ANC's application," AfriForum spokesperson Willie Spies said.
"The Transvaal Agricultural Union of SA will also be joining the case."
He said the union wanted the opportunity to "defend their farmers in the Transvaal".
The case relates to Malema's repeated use of the term "shoot the Boer" in lyrics sung publicly last year.
In a separate case, Malema was found guilty of hate speech and harassment by the Equality Court in March last year over comments he made about a woman who accused President Jacob Zuma of rape.

ANC is doing the right thing by intervining!! Truely speaking Malema is a young man and these songs were sung along time even before he was born!! So this is part of the liberation strugle legacy and even today it is still living and it will take years to be imprinted out of many of the peoples minds or it shall not be imprinted at all!! So Malema has inherited the features of his ancsestors so naturally this features will just pop out!!Report Abuse

@Cronvilleworm-Usisibhanxa,uzizibunu bububububu. When you are wrong you must have the deceny to apologise,no one will take you as a coward but as a responsible being with the capacity to acknowledge others opinions and sentiments. No one says that our heritage or history should be forgotten. To roam around like a schoolyard bully is not becoming of a supposedly intelligent politician and reflects badly as well on the rest of us.
