Getting an ID book a struggle

A DISGRUNTLED Limpopo man has accused the Department of Home Affairs in Tzaneen of stalling his future after allegedly failing to process his ID application for the past four years.

He was allegedly told he shared his ID numbers with someone living in Kimberley in Northern Cape.

Amos Ngwenyama, 24, from Petanenge village outside Tzaneen, said he had made applications for an ID book four times since 2007 - without success.

Sowetan has seen four duplicated copies of the applications he made in October 2007, January 2009, February and August 2010.

Home Affairs Department acting manager for the Tzaneen branch, Monette Dapa, said she was not aware of the problem and promised to investigate.
