Police arrest ATM suspects

METRO police have arrested three people who allegedly robbed tourists at an ATM in central Cape Town, a spokesman said yesterday.

Acting Metro chief Wayne le Roux said the tourists, two women, asked the three suspects to help them operate the ATM, because they could not understand the language.

"The suspects helped them to draw R1000, but then withdrew another R5000," Le Roux said.

"When the officers arrived the tourists pointed out the suspects."

The three were charged with fraud.
