Mbuli is face of Creme de la Mer

THE saying is lightning does not strike twice in the same spot. It looks as if it has, though, for red carpet queen Uyanda Mbuli.

Mbuli, officially announced as brand ambassador for La Mer's Crème de la Mer yesterday, came limping to her own party after spraining her left foot for the second time.

The 32-year-old, who is head of marketing, communications and customer relationship management at the Gauteng Liquor Authority, said she had fallen at work on Monday while walking in her office.

In 2008 the mother of one twisted her ankle days before her début in the Strictly Come Dancing competition.

"It looks like every time I'm going to have a breakthrough in my life, I have an accident," she told journalists and close friends at the intimate affair.

She showed up at the glamorous party held at Athol Place in Sandton with a silver high heel on the right and a black pump on the left.

As face of La Mer, a brand owned by Estée Lauder and a German cosmetic company, Mbuli will be involved in road shows at which she will talk about the product.

Mbuli said: "I am very excited to be associated with a premium brand of such quality and heritage as La Mer. It's my favourite brand and has always been a part of my daily routine.... I have put it through the test and it has survived me. It is a very classy product. As a result, I look forward to introducing it to other people."
