THE ANC in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday rejected calls by opposition parties that economic development and tourism MEC Mike Mabuyakhulu and speaker of legislature Peggy "Neliswa" Nkonyeni should resign.
Party secretary Sihle Zikalala said the call by the opposition is nothing but "cheap politics" and "opportunism".
The DA accused Mabuyakhulu of "folding his arms" while suspended state- owned bank Ithala CEO Sipho Shabalala was being accused of corruption.
Shabalala is linked to allegations of corruption involving state tenders by the department of health during the tenure of Nkonyeni as MEC.

Nkonyeni ( who employed and rewarded her corrupt boyfriend, amonmg other scandals) and Mabuyakhulu must go. Zweli has been defending this corrupt Shabalala for too long. Hardworking public servants are struggling to make ends meet, whilst these so called senior people milk the taxpayer and are defended by our leadership. This sh*t must endReport Abuse
