A Free State couple has been arrested for murdering their seven-month-old baby daughter, police said on Tuesday.
A post mortem found that she was murdered and then boiling porridge was poured over the infant, after the actual murder, Captain Ina Scholtz said.
"Both parents were arrested immediately and appeared in court."
The 28-year-old mother and 35-year-old father were denied bail.
It was also discovered that the couple were Lesotho residents and had a four-year-old boy staying with them.
Police said the boy had been placed with social workers.

They deserve an equally slow and cruel death. One thing I hate this constitution of ours about is the fact that evil creatures like these commit such atrocities against innocent kids yet are rewarded by 3 meals a day, a blanket and a comfy "prison cell"Its time we borrowed a few laws from the Muslims and start chopping off limbs.

Now you believe me when I say some parents don't love their kids and they need a way of killing them, like a father who engaged his 10year old son to participate at the hospital while kids are at school or home.
Batswadi ba bang ba kgathatswa ke support and find a way of ending their kids lives.
