Bid for hubby's millions fails
THE relentless efforts by Pretoria State Theatre boss to get a piece of MTN boss's millions has hit another brick wall.
The Pretoria high court dismissed her intention to appeal against an earlier ruling stopping her from reinstating her lawsuit.
In January Xoliswa Ngema accused her legal team of giving up on her and ultimately fired the team before withdrawing her litigation for a stake in MTN boss Sifiso Dabengwa's fortunes.
Her application to reinstate the lawsuit was dismissed in March and she lodged an application for leave to appeal against the ruling, which the court dismissed yesterday.
Ngema claims she is entitled to half of Dabengwa's wealth because they were married according to customary law in 2003.
Ngema wanted a divorce and R35000 a month on maintenance with medical aid until she remarried or died. She also wanted the court to grant her half of Dabengwa's estate, including 10percent of his investment in MTN worth more than R204million.
Dabengwa has maintained that he never married Ngema and that they were only engaged. He said he paid R20000 lobolo and bought her an engagement ring but there were no customary celebrations.
They had been together for eight years when in 2003 Dabengwa gave her a R90000 ring while holidaying in Dubai.
While the case was proceeding the two launched various applications against each other, including an application by Ngema for interim maintenance which was granted and Dabengwa was granted an eviction order to get Ngema out of his house.

U go and get what is yours, as customary law recognise this as marriage, this western laws are misleading our brothers and sisters. The fact that He paid lobola and spend 8yrs 2gether, she is entitle of everything that need to go her way.
I wish the editor could have investigated more and find out if there are also children involved in this relationship.
