Dealing with cancer taught her forgiveness
A FULFILLING afternoon for female employees of the Dihlabeng local municipality, who attended an inaugural Women Empowerment Seminar, was capped by a sobering revelation by council speaker Angie Noosi.
Addressing approximately 200 fellow civil servants, Noosi made a revelation that brought a palpable hush to the Bethlehem Town Hall, putting the aim of the seminar into sobering perspective.
Speaking in a soft but resolute voice Noosi highlighted the importance of humility, positivity, inner healing, introspection, assertiveness, forgiveness and unity.
She then revealed how these qualities - plus prayer - had helped her deal with cancer.
"We refuse to forgive each other as women and yet we stand for abuse in our homes," Noosi said.
She said learning about having cancer, and how to deal with the illness, had strengthened her belief, trust and hope in fellow human beings.
She relayed how her change in attitude had been galvanised by a surgeon who had insisted on prayer before operating on her.
Noosi also said one of her sisters had encouraged her to keep on praying, forgiving and loving all those around her, at all times.
She said: "Let us learn to forgive each other's mistakes, including leaders and those in any other position, because it is all important for future generations, for our children."
The seminar was held expressly for the municipality's female employees.
Women attending the seminar were inspired by presentations made by other speakers, including longtime Lesedi FM resident and motivational speaker Portia Molapo.
Performances by gospel music sensations Deborah Fraser and Tebogo helped uplift and encourage the women.
Fraser's successful musical career has spanned more than a decade, having seen her sell more than a million albums.

Morning all,I think when it comes to forgiveness, we don't have a choice but to forgive, forget and cautious.
1.In cases where you don't have a relationship with God, believe you me, you have to forgive your enemies because they will prosper in your precence and o tlo kgama ke pelo, you'll be sick and bitter and this will ultimately make you hate them.
2. Where you have a relationship with God, obedience is the only thing in this case, just obey thr word of God.

The film writer Tyler Perry on one of his movies says "if u dont forgive people who hurt you, they take your power, so get your power back u must forgive them" am trying to take this advice.@Galfrend u are not alone so let's try, imagine somebody took your power so meaning you are power less, so let's take our power back by forgiving those who hurt us, they will be the one's who are suffering.
