Sharemax paid the brokers 6% commission - which was the big draw. The consultants placed peoples money with Sharemax because of the commission and not because it would benefit their clients. Still too many cowboys (and cowgirls) in the industry.

Whilst I applaud Noluntu's good work; I must say to the defraudedand would be investors ignorance is not a virtue. There is so much information available at our finger tips to monitor our investments. The first principle when in comes to investment is education, that way you do not have to trust anybody but yourself and your own judgement (You are basically your own CEO). Stop being lazy, acquire the necessary information pertaining what you want to invest in, i am not suggesting that we should all be sophisticated investors, but get the necessary knowledge and do not be in a hurry and yes trust your instincts (The old adage that if something appears too good to be true, it probably is not true still holds to this day). Happy investing.

Mgeez i disagree with you because we work with this cases on daily basis brokers lie through their teeth promising clients the world and some of this clients are rich and illiterate and brokers use big words our black brothers find it difficult to understand to make profit you might even fall prey because even the educated come across such problems.

What exatly do you disagree with in what I have said? The need for investors or would be investors to acquire knowledge?

Well done Ms Bam, we need quality leaders like you in our country. I think if you were a CFO in one of Limpopo Departments you would do a great deal to the Province. Comrades should from now know that Investments help the investing Companies than Individual investors just like policies you name them Sanlam , Discovery or Metropolitan , a Company makes huge profits and only give you a fraction of what they made. Rather do like them invest your money straight at JSE or Investtac because that is were Banks and Insurance Companies are taking your money to after collection, so my free legal advise to Comrades, ''Cut out the middle man and go direct you will save lot of money for your self. And lastly it is cheaper to buy a car or finuture in cash than in installment. And please avoid taking loans because you pay tripple the amount you received but that is very difficult to notice because they normally deduct a very small amount but over a long period of time , now take the small amount and multiply it by the number of months or years, I am telling you you will hate to take a loan, it is not cool at all.

So now because you do not agree with me I have since became blind? What advice are you putting on the table for people who wants to invest? Please this time try to give practical and factual advise!!! Criticising my advise that people should be educated about the products the seek to invest in is actually not an advise!!!

we are saying to you nt everbody has that priviledge of yours , you talk about , some other ppl will rely on the man/woman working for the bank like Mocwiri, not everybody has info on fingertips mgeez, some dont even know what is investment but anyway thank you.

At some stage we bl.acks are so embarrssing , how can you work for Standard bank and end up being a crook, wh.ites have never done such a thing , those few bla.cks doing this thing are taking away our dignity

I remember when we complted high school one of the guy got a job at FNB as cashier he used to steal money for orphans whose husband di.ed in the mines , the guy was lucky since he didnt have qualifications but was caught ,very quiet guy and reliable when we were at school
