WE LEARNT about the world's deadliest snake earlier this week, but today we have the world's longest snake - the reticulated python - which is found in the humid rainforests and woodlands of Southeast Asia.
The term reticulated refers to the net-like pattern on its skin, which provides it with a perfect camouflage.
One reticulated python captured in 1912 - 100 years ago - was an amazing 10m long. Other very long specimens include Colossus from the Pittsburgh zoo, which was 8.5m and Fluffy from the Columbus Zoo, which was 7m. - uncovered.com; buzzle.com; largestsmartestfastest.com
