CONFESSION BOX: Head over heels with my best friend

I am in love with one of my best friends. We went with our friends to a party and I told her how I felt about her. She thought I was drunk and laughed at me.

I wasn't drunk. I approached her again but she would not believe me. We have known each other since primary school and our families are very close. I don't know whether to keep on trying. Please advise me.

This is a difficult situation and I can understand how frustrating it is. You need to think carefully whether this is the right thing for you to do.

If you start a romantic relationship with her and it doesn't work out, it could result in the loss of your best friend. This might impact on your other friends who could feel that they have to side with either one of you.

What would happen to the relationship between your families? I am sure there are many women with good qualities who would love to be your girlfriend, and perhaps you just need to look a bit further than your circle of friends.
