Financial freedom and success with your money is a choice. To achieve this success, you need to think and act right.

Many people frown on the idea of financial freedom and they think it is an elusive goal. They dismiss the idea as unrealistic and never take any of the steps that could make it possible to achieve financial freedom.

You need to choose to believe in yourself and commit to following the proven pathway to success and you will succeed. Here are a few commandments to guide you.

Commandment 1: Thou shalt know where you are going, or else any road will take you there. Life doesn't care where you are or where you are going. Life doesn't even care what you're doing - life only cares if you care. If you care where you are going, and you want life to help you get there, then let life know. So where do you want your life to go?

Commandment 2: Thou shalt not forget to plan or else you will surely fail. Think about it. No one ever gets up in the morning and says to themselves "eish, today, I think I want to fail".

Most people simply never slow down long enough to write out a little plan. It doesn't have to be elaborate. Just sit down and do it. It is empowering to have a plan. So where is yours?

Commandment 3: Thou shalt keep your agreements. Your word is wealth. It used to be that a person's word was their bond, and when one made an agreement, a handshake was as good as a signed contract.

His/her word defined the type of person he/she was. What kind of person are you? Do you stand by your word?

Do you keep your agreements and if you can't make it, do you make a new agreement on time? How good is your word?

Commandment 5: Thou shalt invest in yourself. It always pays off. Sometimes we give and give without replenishing ourselves.

This is common among women. In order to give to others, or do good in the world, you must take time to invest in yourself.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "an investment in education always pays the best interest". When was the last time you invested in yourself?

Commandment 6: Thou shalt say to yourself "I am the CEO of my life". Some people dream of being chief executive officers in companies.

Do you realise that you are in charge of your life? I hate to break it to you - your life is really a do-it-yourself-project. Don't you think you should get working on it today? . Are you ready to put on your CEO hat?

Commandment 7: Thou shall know that your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes determine your wealth potential. What are you thinking about right now? Is it positive or negative?

Are you thinking about having what you want or your inability to have what you want? Whatever you are thinking about, it is what you will get. Attend to your thoughts because they always bring you whatever you think about most.

Commandment 8: Thou shalt not say "I know that". These words are dangerous.

When you say "I know that", your brain shuts down so you can't hear anything that could help you along the way.

We only receive the wealth of the world if we are open to it and are humble and willing to learn. Can you say "I wonder why" instead? This opens up possibilities for solutions.
