Introducing Sitpack: the foldable chair that fits in your pocket

A collapsible chair that fits in your pocket could put an end to all those times you find yourself waiting uncomfortably in line.

"Sitpack" is a foldable seat which collapses to just 16.8cm in length and 6.6cm in diameter. It can be extended to 17cm to 87cm tall.

Users simply flip the sides of the chair's case upwards to form a bar for perching on, revealing an adjustable leg which can then be extended in a manner similar to unfolding a telescope.

The design is suitable for use on most surfaces and the chair supports up to 130 kg.

The brainchild of Danish start-up Mono+Mono, Sitpack aims to encourage a healthy posture by stimulating muscles and balance and keeping the core engaged.

Product Manager Jonas Lind-Bendixen was inspired to create Sitpack after finding himself waiting for three hours at a concert.

"Standing straight for hours until the music would begin, was quite uncomfortable, and not at all the experience I had in mind when leaving home," he says.

Currently listed on crowdfunding website Kickstarter, Sitpack is available in five colors -- white, black, grey, blue and green -- with prices starting at DKK 120 (approximately US $20). The model is expected to ship in April 2015.
