Love is in the air this weekend as Nelson Mandela's grandson, Zondwa Mandela, says "I do" to his longtime sweetheart, Lindo Zici, at his grandfather's home in Qunu.

Zondwa, 27, who is Zindzi Mandela's eldest son, confirmed that he was getting married this weekend but said the media would not be allowed at the wedding.

President Jacob Zuma's nephew, Khulubuse Zuma, is one of the guests expected to attend the wedding.

Zondwa and Khulubuse were directors of Aurora mine, which was placed in liquidation in October last year after it failed to pay creditors and about 5,300 workers.

• Deputy Communications Minister Stella Ndabeni will also tie the knot with Thato Abrahams at Dan's Country Lodge, 20km outside Mthatha, also in Eastern Cape.

Ndabeni confirmed that she was getting married this weekend, but refused to give details, only saying one of the country's magazine will be covering the wedding.

She said: "My wedding is a private affair. We have agreed to that with my husband. I just want my guests to be at ease and not be intimidated by the media ... please understand".

• And on Saturday Prince Dumisa Bantu Mgudlwa, one of the sons of the late judge Fikile Bam and a great-grandson of Nkosi Bhungane Mgudlwa, will wed Nthabiseng Kubheka.

Mgudlwa's aunt, Brigalia Bam, will be at the wedding.

Only two generations later and the Mandela name also elicits disgust in people. Some of Madiba's descendants should be prevented for carrying his name. The next five generations should be sanitised of people like this.
