THERE are certain acts which, no matter how small and insignificant they might seem to women, we know men have a common hatred for - like spending hours in a shopping mall, for example.

Sowetan spoke to a couple of male celebs to find out about what irks them when it comes to, ehhhm, dealing with the fairer sex.

While the celebs said they were more than willing to compromise on some issues, there is one thing that men seem to agree on that makes them miserable about their partners. It is not keeping time.

Scandal actor Kagiso Modupi, who plays Daniel's son Mangi, said most of the time when women were late for appointments they did it on purpose.

"I have learnt to deal with it. They take time to get in and out of the car. Now when they do that, I just sit there and wait for her to take her time," said Modupi.

Modupi's irritation on this matter was echoed by funny man Kenneth Nkosi.

The father of three girls said he has stopped going shopping with his wife because something which can be done in 30 minutes would take the whole day.

"I am a very impatient man. One thing I cannot stand is when someone wastes my time," he said.

Nkosi, who has been married for two years, says he has tried to inform his wife about his irritation but this did not help.

YFM DJ Mo Flava said he cannot stand to be made to hold his woman's handbag.

"Who knows what goes in those big bags of theirs. One minute you are carrying the bag and the next minute you will be expected to rummage through their mysterious contents. It's just too much," said Mo Flava.

Unlike Mo Flava, Nkosi said he could tolerate carrying his partner's bag, depending on the situation.

"If she is having too many bags, I will help her but she knows she generally has to carry her own handbag."

Kiernan Forbes, who goes by the stage name AKA, might appear too Hip Hop and someone with too much swag to be a loving and caring partner. But under that tough spewing lyricist is a soft heart.

The 2011 Metro Award winner, who swears by opening doors for a lady, said what irks him most is a gum chewing date.

He just finds it unattractive when he sees a woman chewing and popping gum.

for me?? soapies i wish the government can ban them jeeerrr. and they always seem to play at the same time as the soccer. and if you go and watch soccer in the other room or with friends you are made to seem like you do not spend quality time with her. and if you insist on a game for a day she will then insist on watching the whole week's 5 episodes just to catch up on one on the weekend.
