If you haven't heard of the name Kgomotso Seboko and you are in the fashion industry, take note now, because he's definitely making his mark.
Seboko, who is the owner of KS Model Management and Motso Productions, is one of the few black fashion producers in South Africa.
He has produced major shows, including Joburg Fashion Week and Mpumalanga Fashion Week.
Seboko was recently approached to produce a fashion show for Jet in Sandton, where the clothing company will be launching their summer line of fashions.
Seboko's job is to not only plan the fashion event, but also to manage and organise it on schedule and on a strict budget.
"What I do depends on the day, because as a fashion show producer, you do it all. In addition to selecting the show's fashions, it's my responsibility to set a date, find and secure a venue, meet and communicate with clients, hire and manage staff, source vendors, promote and market the show, book models, collaborate with fashion stylists, manage the schedule, design the seating chart and serve as a host to guests, among other things."
He says a fashion producer needs excellent people skills to deal with sensitive egos, as well as great problem-solving skills.
"You need to be firm and pro-active. Models are the most difficult people you will ever deal with in your life. You have to deal with many a crisis, including missing models, torn dresses and missing clothes. Some [models and other participants in the shows] actually steal dresses." He adds that though he often experiences problems with models, they are on their best behaviour most of the time because the job means a lot to them.
"There are few modelling jobs in South Africa. Models cannot live on the modelling money alone. They have to do other jobs to support themselves, so actually most of them do behave. I avoid working with popular models because they have 'diva tendencies'."
Seboko has been invited to the Switzerland International Fashion Week that takes place from October 19 to 28 to help with the show.
The 29-year-old is taking with him six budding South African designers as part of the Soweto Fashion Week project.
"I am very excited and humbled by this call. I hope I will learn a lot that side. Hopefully when I come back, the local fashion industry will take me seriously," he says.
Seboko bemoans the lack of black fashion producers in South Africa.
And who is his favourite model?
"Poppy Xaba is my favourite. She is the hottest model in South Africa at the moment. She has unique and exotic looks. I like using her because out of all South African models she has the whole package."
