A recent survey conducted by condom manufacturer Durex, which ranked Nigerian women as the most unfaithful in the world, has not gone unchallenged.
Four out of five Nigerians that Sowetan picked randomly for comment say they do not believe the survey. They all think South African women rank as number one in the dishonesty stakes.
"No woman in the world can beat South Africans at cheating. They are the worst ever. The problem with them is that they love material things, sex and money," says one man who identified himself only as Uche.
Uzoma Chukuma, who had South African girlfriends but later decided to go home and marry a Nigerian woman, says he does not think the research was conducted thoroughly.
He says he has "suffered at the hands of South African women".
"It turned out that all the South African women I was dating had boyfriends," he says. "Two of them even cheated with my Nigerian friends behind my back. One was stealing things and money from me to give to her South African man."
He adds that local women mistake Nigerian men's generosity for weakness.
"Nigerians are generous by nature. Most local women think they can loot our resources. When they realise we are not that stupid they move on to another Nigerian."
Ike Christopher says South African women cheat because they do not respect sex and men.
"Most of the South African girlfriends I had did not come from stable homes and did not know their fathers," Christopher says. "Their fathers made them, left and found another woman to make another baby. So they were not used to stable relationships. That is why they cheated. It is not in their DNA to be with one man."
But Eric Mba, a Nigerian pastor who has a church in South Africa, believes the survey.
"In my seven years of ministry in South Africa I do not know how many Nigerian marriage disputes involving dishonest Nigerian wives I have settled. The situation is even worse back home."
He attributes this to loneliness and greed.
"Most of their husbands travel in search of greener pastures and leave wives in Nigeria for long periods," he says. "This opens room for cheating.
"In other instances women cheat for material gain. In my country, if you are poor you are treated like trash, that is why most Nigerians will do anything to get rich."
Nigerians have also been ranked as among the most sexually satisfied in the world.
The survey puts Nigeria in pole position at 67%, followed by Mexico at 63%, India at 61% and Poland at 54%.
The least sexually satisfied people in the world, according to the survey, are the Japanese, with 15% of respondents from that country giving their love lives a thumbs-up.
"On average South Africans have sex 120 times a year - considerably more than the global average of 103," the survey says.
"It is the sexed-up Greeks who have the most sex at 164 times a year; with Brazil next (145), followed by Poland and Russia (both 143). The Japanese are the least sexually-active nation, being intimate just 48 times a year."
The survey also measures the average time of sexual intercourse among respondents.
"The Nigerians take the most time over sex at 24 minutes per session, while Indians have the quickest sex at 13 minutes," it states.

If Nigerians take 24 minutes and Indians 13, how long do they take while researching ?
