MUCH LOVED BY FAMILY: Violet Elizabeth Zulu is 102 years old

Violet Elizabeth Zulu also known as MaNxumalo was born more than a century ago in Randfontein on 27th of May 1910.

MaNxumalo's wisdom, life lessons and experiences have been passed down from generation to generation, through her daughter Glenise Dot Hadebe, five grand-children, six great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was the proud owner of her very own home in Orlando West but eventually sold it and moved to Durban to be with her daughter.

In 1991 MaNxumalo went to live in Orange Farm with the granddaughter she had helped raise.

"I'm living with her. I'm the first grand-daughter and she brought me up.

"It's like a blessing to still have her around us.

"Happy Birthday Gogo,
