Ex-Miss SA does it for the young people
FORMER Miss South Africa Bokang Montjane is not resting on her laurels. Since she was crowned the most beautiful woman in the country last year, she has been busying herself with adventures aimed at helping young girls and boys.
For her 26th birthday tomorrow, the Limpopo-born beauty will launch her annual Bokang Legacy Youth Camp that is aimed at encouraging young girls and boys to pursue their dreams.
The programme is aimed at promoting talent as well as build confidence while also encouraging young people who are passionate about benefitting their communities to pursue sustainable careers.
"We have recruited young girls around the country who participate in workshops to build their confidence and give them the right career," says the lady who has run a modelling and confidence school, among other things.
Montjane says the Bokang Legacy Youth Camp was inspired by a youth camp she hosted last year during her reign as Miss South Africa.
"I got hooked. Hosting those 50 young girls and giving them those workshops ... means I did my part. And that is why I will be hosting another one this year."
The theme of the event is "The Butterfly Princess".
Her birthday, that will be attended by the who's who in politics and celeb-land, will be held tomorrow at The Lighthouse in Fourways.
