BIG SPENDER: Multi-millionaire David Mabilu and his wife Phala

MAURITIUS'S Long Beach Resort will turn into a bling and glitter affair this weekend when Limpopo multi-millionaire David Mabilu and his wife Phala celebrate their marriage.

Mabilu, or Mabix as he is known, has taken with him a brigade of South African stars, politicians, businesspeople and journalists to the island.

Mabilu, 42, owns Vharanani Properties, a housing and infrastructure company, that got tenders to build most RDP units in Limpopo.

The guest list of those invited includes Gauteng ANC provincial secretary David Makhura and businessman Sello Rasethaba and their wives, in what is expected to be the celebration of the decade.

Planned and organised by celebrity wedding planner, Sophie Ndaba, it will be a four-day affair.

The lavish celebration begins with a pre-party where celebrities and guests will be treated to some Mauritian hospitality including restaurants, spa treatment and shopping.

Insiders have revealed that the guests were asked to supply the hosts with their shoe and clothing sizes.

The entertainment line-up includes DJ Ganyani, Black Coffee, Oskido and Mahoota Vs Vetkoek, Tshepho Mngoma, Afro Tenors and DJ Thulebona, among others.

According to a long itinerary the guests are expected to be welcomed by Jerry Ndou, South African ambassador to Mauritius.

The make-up and the dress team includes stylist Nthatho Mashishi, fashion designers David Tlale and Kluk Kluk CGDT.

The biggest day is Saturday when the groom and his best men arrive by boat.

Jaziel Brothers will perform as the bride walks down the aisle with her bridesmaids.

The big bridal party will have a photo shoot that includes invited friends and family.

This will be followed by an after-party at Bombara night club.

There will be a jazz session on the beach on Sunday and guests return home on Monday.
