LEAD singer of the popular award-winning South African music group Malaika and Destiny hitmaker Tshedi Mholo says there is no place like North West.
The BA Education graduate, who grew up in Boikhutso township in North West, says she loves the multipluralism and diversity the province has to offer.
Whether it be its people, the cuisine, or beautiful destinations, the former teacher, who taught Grade 6, 7 and 8 pupils at a high school in Soweto, says there is no place on earth that can beat the province.
What do you like about North West?
The fact that our farms and agriculture contribute to the economy of the country, our cement manufactures and our cultural infrastructures and the unity that comes with it. The Platinum province provides for millions of people. Enough accommodation for visitors and tourist attractions to enjoy.
What's your favourite night spot in North West and why?
I love Sun City and Lost City in Rustenburg. You can't sleep while there's more fun to enjoy.
Where do you like to play in North West and why?
Any place that brings me closer to my hometown. Mafikeng, and other surrounding places.
Who throws the best parties in the province and why?
I guess we all create our fun depending on the capacity and the logistics. Hans Kekana used to host and I'm hoping it's still happening as this will bring more guests and tourists to our province.
Whoever is hosting the 60s is doing a great job.
What are your favourite restaurants in North West and why?
I love Spur in Lichtenburg and Wimpy in Rustenburg and Zeerust, you get the best service.
Favourite hotel or B&B in North West?
Scotts Manor in Lichtenburg and Madikwe Lodge and Pilanesburg Resorts.
What makes North West great?
The vegetation, the diversity of cultures, though it's more Tswana orientated. Our tertiary institutions placed in various places like Potch, Klerkdorp, Taung and other neighbouring places.
Where do you chill with your friends in North West?
Camping somewhere in the Pilanesberg National Park.
What's your favourite shisa nyama in North West?
Caravan Park in Lichtenburg.
Where would you entertain a tourist in North West and why?
The Cradle of Humankind, air ballooning in Sun City and the Hartebeespoort Dam.
What do you see North West looking like in the future?
If given a chance it will host most of the country's prestigious events, not only at Sun City, but other areas for activities from different sectors.
More cultural infrastructure and farming conferences to protect our livestock and vegetation. Improved road construction to make it easier for movement of goods to reach different destinations.

Magaliesberg, Mount Grace and Avianto in Muldersdrift.
