Mamorena wins Matric outfit

Aug 1, 2011 | Bongiwe Khumalo | 4 comments

MAMORENA Ramokadi's dream of looking beautiful on the day of her Matric dance will become a reality.

 To stand a chance of winning, send us an email to tellus@sowetan.co.za, tell us why you or the child you are nominating deserves to win. Remember to tell us the recipient's dress/suit size and the date of the Matric Dance

Ramokadi of Phefeni, Soweto, is the first winner of our SowetanLive Matric Dance Competition.

Her mother Judy entered her for the competition. She picked a cute pink dress by Penny Lebyane and a cream clutch bag from Melanie Bala.

Judy said: "I became a breadwinner after her father's leg was amputated because of diabetes. The amputation took its toll on Mamorena. She had hoped her father would be the one to buy her a matric dance dress but he is unable to. I'm grateful for this initiative because now my daughter is happy."

Mamorena said: "I'm very excited and grateful to SowetanLive. Without you I wouldn't have this beautiful dress. I'm a hard worker who puts my all into everything I do. I never thought I'd win. I feel very blessed right now.

"I thank my mom for entering. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have won," she said.

Grade 12 pupils can win matric dance outfits sponsored by celebrities like Katlego Mphela, Nokuthula Ledwaba, Buti Manamela, Lebogang Maile, The Bala Brothers, Trevor Gumbi, Reggie Molamu and Rosie Motene.

@Sowetan,
I never won anything on this site even though i entered with a very true touching story. I told you that i attend ABET/NIGHT school and major in Religious and Biblical studies...doesn't that count?

Prudence

The dress is cute.
My only concern for the young lady, is that I don't think that dress really supports her clivage and would she really have a good time the night of the dance trying to keep the dress in place?
