POPULAR SABC2 gospel music TV show Gospel Time is set to go off air at the end of March..
In just a few days the winner will walk away with the coveted prize at a glittering ceremony at the Silverstar Casino in Mogale City.
Denver Burns, Mr South Africa 2010, will host an Evening with the Top 12 Finalists at the FTV in Montecasino. He has extended an invitation to past winners on the eve of handing over the crown. At 25, Denver from Port Elizabeth was the youngest Mr South Africa ever.
In the 90’s township boys wanted to emulate Paul Phume, the first black Mr SA, in 1994. Phume used his fame and popularity coupled with his business acumen went on to run a highly successful Blackmagic Communications company which boasted a clientele of reputable companies.
The 12 finalists were given a project to raise funds for Christalis Foundation. So far the Top 50 have raised over R300,000 for the foundation.
The finalists are on the last hurdle for this year's title. They toured Soweto last Saturday and on Friday they will be at the Koro Creek Golf Estate in Modimolle (Nylstroom) in the Limpopo province for a Charity Golf Day.
Mr SA 2011 organisers will be looking for an all-rounder and a well-balanced South African man who will be a good ambassador for the youth.
The winner will be crowned at a glittering finale at the Silverstars Casino in Krugersdorp on February 19.
