Mzansi's sexiest nominees' reactions
Here's how your celebs reacted to being nominated as the sexiest in Mzansi (before they knew who'd won):
The guys:
Generations actor Zolisa Xaluva's first reaction was "Why me?" He added: "I still don't get it. I don't look at myself in that way." When asked why he thinks he was nominated he modestly said: "Maybe my love for the craft motivated people to vote for me."
Who do you think is going to take it? "The girls, It's hard to decide between Zizo, Mmabatho and obviously Kagiso."
Shona Ferguson found out from Scandal's publicist that he was part of this year's sexiest people run. "I was part of the competition last year and didn't expect to be nominated again this year. It is indeed an honour and I am truly humbled." Shona thought Zizo Beda and Lungile Radu would be crowned Mr & Ms Sexy.
Rhythm City's heartthrob Lungile Radu thinks people are crazy and they have funny fetishes. "I don't think I'm sexy. I don't look at myself in that way but I really do appreciate the nomination and I'm truly humbled."
Like all the other nominees Y-FM DJ Moeti "Mo Flava" Letsiki does not see himself as sexy. "I hope to be competition enough for the other guys. I think I'm an average guy. People will decide if I bring sexy back."
Sello Mbuzana Nyathi is a former SABC 1 continuity presenter and now hosts the midday show on Ikwekwezi FM. "The nomination took me by suprise. Could it be my sense of humour? I honestly don't know but I am humbled. This is really special."
Isidingo's Sisa Hewana is not sure what secured him a spot in the Top 6. "If I knew what it was I would do more of it. Thank you to the readers for nominating me."
The girls
Kagiso Rakosa who plays Sharon on Generations sees the nomination as an achievement. "To be part of the Top 6 is an honour. Even if I don't win but I will know that someone out there knows and appreciates what I do."
Another nominee Zizo Beda doesn't know what people voted for her. "I think it's because I never try to be anyone else but myself. Maybe that's what people find sexy."
Tshego Malepe believes "you don't have to be over the top to stand out." I like to keep things simple and that's what I think the readers like. I'm humbled that they took the time to nominate and vote for me."
Minnie Dlamini feels priviledged to be part of this competition. "Being recognised is cool. Thank you so much for the support."
Businesswoman and model Primrose Crous thinks the readers nominated her because they like her personality. "This means celebrating myself more as a woman. Thank you so much to all the people who voted for me."
Mmabatho Montsho did not really have the time to chat because she was busy sorting out stuff for her trip to LA.
