Gospel musician Lusanda Mcinga is recovering at home after she was admitted for exhaustion at an Eastern Cape hospital.

The multi-award-winning singer was admitted to Mthatha Hospital last week.

Betusile Mcinga, her son who is also an established gospel musician, confirmed his mother was in hospital last week and was discharged on Saturday.

"Doctors said she was exhausted and admitted her for a few days.

"She is tired because of her hectic performance schedule and she has also been busy running her businesses on the side. She is taking it easy at home," he said.

Another gospel singer from the Eastern Cape confirmed the singer had been in hospital for a while.

Mcinga is known for creating a fresh twist on traditional Xhosa songs.

Her music has delighted audiences since 1995.

Mcinga's tunes and the beats are highly influenced by the music of the Eastern Cape's cultural environment.

When contacted for comment, Mcinga did not answer her phone.
